One giant lead...of faith

Highly doubt they will accomplish this. There are countless locations throughout the world where doing something like this is considered a no no, I mean look at what Bohemia Interactive had to deal with while creating Arma 3, some of their members got sent to jail for "espionage". Let's also not forget how incredibly long it is going to take for these people to map out the entirety of the world. And finally the massive amount of money that will go into fully producing this, and how ridiculous the file size of something like this would likely be.

Big brother will be "watching" this progress. Would be one cool game though.

From what I can see, they're looking at a single player game with the option to coop. I don't think that they're trying to compete in the Rust and DayZ space. They are also projecting a mid 2015 release date for their first playable version which will be just a couple square miles.

If you look at the scope of the entire project they want to build a game that accurately models the entire planet to scale, uses real world weather that is accessed via the Internet, is crowd funded and playable on "older machines". I have my doubts as to how this is going to pan out, but it looks awesome and I'm hoping that they can pull it off.

nah, thats more like DayZ and Rust. WarZ was not top down.

What has being top down have to do with it?

With "smelling of War Z" I think he means he thinks this is another quick cash-grab in the crafting/survival genre.

What i ment was, reroll is played by top down to where Dayz and Rust are either first and or third person. Meaning top down is more of RTS style with limits.

Swing and a miss! lol, I think what ChocolateVillan was getting at is that it seems like it will turn out to be another "scam game", like WarZ was.

at first i was like "holy crap. i want this"

then i saw it looked like a really bad topdown browser game

do not want

Yeah. They way they have they had it set up for fundraising seem like just another quick money grab with lofty ambitions that seem kinda unrealistic to me at least.

if this ever happens the first thing i'm doing is finding my house and going to my local safeway

There already is a game engine that has mapped the globe...let me get back to you on the name.
