The opener was a little slow, but having read the books it helped knowing what they were setting up.

I haven't read the books, but I'm going to guess that Joffrey and Balon Greyjoy are going to bite it this season. They were the other two names listed off in Stannis' kings blood murder curse.

It was the gem in sansa's necklace. One of the gems was missing when they had a close up of sansa's neck during the wedding. I think the tyrells did it. We shall see though.

Yeah, I think the Tyrells did it too. I swore I saw Margaery drop something in Joffery's cup when she took it from Tyrion! Or maybe it was Petyr Baelish? Either way Tyrion is going to pay for it. It's beginning to look like without an enemy the Lannisters will turn on themselves.

So whats the count now in the War of the 5 Kings? Only two are left? Stannis and Balon?

I won't go into who did it but what a great episode to see acted out. Was such a great point in the book to read.

I was hoping for the more gruesome of death but it seems they went the tamer route

As someone who read the books... Anyone else under the opinion that they're taking WAY too long to set up what's about to happen next? In Storm of Swords, this sequence of events took a maximum of fifty pages to accomplish.

I think they are but it seems like they are saving it for the finale. This season seems to mirror last with something big in episode 8 and then the finale. But there was some foreshadowing in this episode so maybe it will be in episode 9. Guess we'll wait to see.
