I've recently traded up to a b.m.o.c christmas hat, worth about 11-12 keys, trying to sell it/trade for a sniper usual and I'm curious as to what the cheapest hat/effect would be. I've been told it's blokes/nuts, this what I should be looking for?

Yeah, Bloke's with NnB is about 12 keys.

However, a Swatter with NnB is usually around 13-14. You could try for that.

Nuts & bolts is the cheapest effect, unless it's on an engineer hat.

It's also, in my opinion, a good effect for a sniper hat because it doesn't scream "Shoot here!".

Agreed. NnB, Fetti and Flies are best for Sniper (though the latter two are crazy espensive). Dead Presidents and Aces High somewhat less, but still there.

Any of the plasma/flame effects are bad. They draw lots of attention. Additionally, Blizzardy/Stormy/Cloudy hover above your head and can alert an enemy sniper if you're about to come over a cliff. I've dominated a couple enemy snipers this way.

Yea I rarely wear my Stormy Storm unusual when i play sniper, it does draw alot of attention.
