CPU problems

The CPU on my laptop has been running way to high ( between 80% and 100%) any ideas?

Can you give us a more details on your computer specifications?

Like, ram, graphics card, etc.

In the meantime it could be a virus. Have you downloaded anything recently?

My lap top is a little dell it has 4 GB of ram 3.8 available built in graphics card. 2.13 GHz intel pentium processor. I have run multiple virus scans and a disk defrag.

"2.13 GHz intel pentium processor" Which model exactly? Does the laptop come with a GPU? What games or programs have you been running? Does it run hot when you're running said programs, or does it get hotter over time? Need more info...

It says p6200 ti has not been getting hot overtime the only programs a run is chrome steam and Day of defeat, and overwolf (occasionally teamspeak).

Have you looked at your task manager to see what processes are running? Anything hogging more processes on the CPU or anything acting above normal? Has this always been an issue or just started? Does it run high when you're doing nothing, browsing the web, or playing games? Again, just do some tests, get some benchmarks.
