Laptop Video Driver Help

Trying to install newest driver from Intel for my Dell laptop. The newest driver on Intel's website is many versions newer than the one on Dell's website. However when I try to install the one from Intel I get "Driver is not validated for your system. Please install a driver from your manufacturer's website". Is there anyway to bypass this to get the latest drivers from the video card's website instead of Dell? It's a Windows 8 laptop and an Intel HD 4400 card. I have already gone through windows pc general settings to disable driver signature enforcement and this did not work either.

Depending on how old or new your laptop is, you might already have the latestdriver. If it's an HD 4400 I'm assuming your PC is packing the i5, since the i7 has 4600 graphics. Try going to Windows Update and searching for updates, then go through both the recommended list of updates and the optional updates to see if you need to update your onboard graphics. Typically Microsoft will push onboard graphics updates automatically to your PC, at least they do on my Windows 8 tablet packing HD 4000 graphics.

Its an i5 and it says it has the latest drivers. Intel driver for the card though is like 3 versions ahead. I only wanted to update to try Titanfall on the laptop because I am getting crazy polygons and video glitching. Only happens on Titanfall. BF4 runs fine on the laptop though slow but no distortions.

I read somewhere to uninstall the video drivers until I get to the base one then try to install the driver from intel's site.

I'm reading the recommended requirements are an AMD Radeon HD 5000 series or a GTX 500 series, so your onboard graphics should be just fine.

I'd take a benchmark test like Azuki says, or try digging through older driver versions like you are saying.

Or you could just run DXDIAG... instead of downloading some sort of software?

Titanfall is also still in beta. The developers may be working out the issues with integrated graphics as we speak. I've always built my own systems, I never bought a prebuilt computer so I don't know how it works with manufactures' PCs. As I stated my Acer tablet with the i3 processor simply had drivers pushed to it automatically via windows update. I didn't have to go on Intel's or Acer's website to download graphics drivers.

It may not even make a difference to download the latest driers unless you are sure that it will make a difference. Generally downloading the latest drivers released by the manufacturer of your computer is the right thing to do.

If you do a clean install of windows using your OEM key removing the bloatware and all the software pre-installed by your OEM (including their custom video driver) you may be able to get somewhere.
