Need Help On upgrades.

CPU: AMD FX-8 CORE BLACK EDITION 8120 3.10GHZ
Motherboard: M5A99X EVO
Memory: 8 GB of Vengence DDR3
Graphics Card: GTX 550 TI Direct CU 1GB GDDR5
and five fans


This perty good still or should I be looking for a new video card and maybe some memory I am wanting to get a new mouse is my problem before anything just want some others opinion on my system
 
well...if you are playing some of the newer titles you will definitely need a upgrade for your gpu
 
I'd go ahead and pop in 8 more gigs of memory and get a more powerful card such as a GTX 7xx series or an AMD Radeon HD 7xxx series or the R9 270/290x.
 
K I dunno much about radeon this is my first amd built computer the rest have been intel so I will stick with a gtx model on gpu yeah i am looking into 8 think my board supports up to 32gb could be wrong been awhile since I looked at all the specs, and into upgrading unfortunately but thanks.
 
Well seeing as how AMD makes the Radeon cards, itll work more to your advantage to get a Radeon 7xxx card in there. Mind you that some games werent made to take advantage of the Radeon technology, but I dont think thatll hurt anything.
 
In order of importance:

1. Video Card:
Minimum:
nVidia X60 or higher (where X is 500 series or higher)
AMD XX70 or higher (where XX is 7700 series or higher) OR R9 series (Preferably 270X or above)
*Note: the first number of the series i.e. 500 / 7000 dictates the generation, which tells you A. the level of the API (in other words the Direct X version) and B. the technology (lithographic process usually) which tells you how many cores you get, and how low the power consumption is per core.

2. CPU:
FX 8350 (if keeping same MoBo)

3. HDD:
SSD (Not necessary, just boosts load times a bit. Make sure you configure it properly.)
If you wipe your bum with 100 dollar bills, Raid multiple SSDs for epic epicosity and cap out your Bus speeds.

4. Memory:
8GB(4x2GB) to 32GB (4x8GB), 1866 or 2133 MHz RAM with low timings (If it isn't already).

5. Mother Board:
You've already got a 99X, the only jump up would be a 990FX board, at which point everything above will change. Everything above is according to your current motherboard.

You could pop in a $200 Sapphire Radeon HD 7870 GHz OC Edition which packs 2GB of onboard video memory (directx diagnostics says mine has 4GB of V-Ram which is... weird).

Or if you want to go a little higher, grab a Radeon HD 7970 GHz Edition with 3GB to even 4GB of onboard memory for $400-$500 depending on the vendor.

Those two AMD cards are fantastic cards. The 7870 can play ANYTHING maxed out, and AMD's latest 13.2 drivers are fantastic! Their 14.1 beta driver needs work (doesn't work with Minecraft xD).

PM me for any questions regarding AMD products. I grew up with them; my first ever "gaming" PC had a Gigabyte Radeon HD 2600 Pro 256MB in it lol. I used to play War:Z on it before the game turned into hacker-paradise.

If you have any better suggestions, im always open to them. Mind you that it has to be within the same price as the link posted above. Nothing over $150. Also I wont do MIR's since ive gotten ripped off on them 2 times in the past.

well I upgraded the mouse so far with a death adder still bongling threw gtx cards and so forth till I find a decent one that I like to darn picky.
 
Pillar I'd go for a Radeon HD 7770 GHz OC Edition by ASUS. Its a sweet card, has one more fan over that GTX 650 (which keeps the card cooler), is an ASUS card, is an AMD card, and costs $120 after rebate.

The 650 isn't a bad card, but I'd personally go with something cooler (temp wise) and faster which would be the 7770 GHz OC Edition.
 
Lol nice, it's better to be picky and get a card you'll be happy with for a few years then get one on a whim and regret within a few months.

Flamelauncher's right on that one. Also the 7770 is an actual "gaming" card by my books, the 650 is an "enthusiast" card.
 
Ya I was just looking at the GTX 750 Ti last nite and noticed that they're bout the same price range, just a lil more performance.
