Am I the only one?

I tend to be the "Play for fun" kind of guy, but when I look at the scoreboard and see that I'm on the top, but someone is right behind me, I go full on "game face" mode, and it is no longer a game, but a contest. Anyone else do this? It isn't so much a problem in TF usually, but more so in games like Chivalry TDM, and FFA, and other things like that where the player's score decides the victor. I like the game, but I MUST win or else I DIE. Or at least that's what it feels like.

Anyone else get this way, or am I just weird?

I usually play long enough where I'm on the top regardless, whether playing sniper or even trolldier.

Any competition just leaves in time.

Depends on the day. Some days I just want to mow the grass with a minigun.

well this is usually the reason why i rage quit tf2 because when i see tab i cant see my name on the scoreboard its like at the deep deep part of it.

also i am a "play for fun" type of gamer until it gets serious

It's not godly, but just enough to annoy. Sanc always has a medic, so you never know how much health he has and thus when to push.

Then again, I usually don't care cause I'm trolldiering

There was only one person who made me leave when they joined the server, but once I figured out Puke 'n' Snot's weakness, I am able to be an even match for him. The map can't have a roof though, otherwise everyone is boned.

Let me give you an analogy that may help you understand what playing against Sanc + Radio is like.

You wake up. You're all excited about the day you have ahead of you. You stand and stretch with a big smile on your face. Then a crit stickybomb flies into your room and you explode.

Back when I was an eG, I used to get all try-hard. I'd make it to the top of the scoreboard and fiercely hold my position there. Now that I'm an eGO...well, I still must be top of the scoreboard...but now I have a banhammer.

I don't stay number two for long.

I just play for fun, until someone dominates me, then I start chasing them down and observing them, every movement. Every step they take, I make a note. Then, when I've leraned their strategy, I go stab them in the back, making sure they won't forget to not dominate me again...

This is most likely b/c you are not always on the opposite team as them for some demented reason. Doesn't mean I don't dig playing with them, though.

Although... Sometimes when Radio logs on solo, she foolishly attempts to pocket me despite my desperate warnings about how I am the worst player ever. "Don't do it, Radio! I have a 1.05 k/d ratio for a reason!" *Radio pockets me anyway. "I... *sigh*"
