Hey guys.. what's up? I just wanted to drop a line to kindly ask if there is ANY WAY that we can have more "Notice" of events. I missed a "party" last night (*got a steam popup last night when I logged in.. too late of course)... and this afternoon I missed a SCRIM of e's vs eG's. I know the stuff comes up and happens hot and heavy... and I WANT to participate.. but I don't know about it (i'm not at my computer 24/7.. .and my phone can pickup the website.. but I'm not always "surfing" with my phone either.. esp if I'm home with the wife and kids).

ANyways, I don't want to be classified as a "slacker" since I dont show up to events... heck I've been on eGO servers probably every day since November (when I bought Tf2)... but when I log in and find out 1 hour ago there was a "party" or a scrim.. it's like "I missed another one that I didn't know about."

Yes, they are posted here on the site.. but like just as they happen it seems...

Anyways, just my 2 cents... Count me in guys.. but give me some notice... THEN label me "Slacker" if I don't show. =)

Peace all...

Pete

PS: Can't wait to try the new servers tonight!!!

Wow.. that's SERVICE!!! I make a request and BAM!!!! instant response. =) J/K I hadn't noticed the calandar there... that's a good idea... I will try to get all those dates into my PDA.. and make sure I'm prepared..... Thanks again blackhawk

Also if you look in the scrim info. it tells you all the events the dates the times everything you need to know ;)

even comes with a nifty little time chart. time converter and a world clock.

Lol! You sound like GGVW, but no.
Yeah, look at the calendar. :D

speaking of the calendar i just noticed that feb 4th doesnt happen to be on there... i think it should be put on even tho we are all antsy for the day to arrive but just in case some one didnt here about it.... just suggestion

I think there's plenty of information about next upcoming event...! :S

I definitely agree with estoroth's opening issue. I've felt the same way about so many things, the eG vs. e scrim included. I remember when I got my first notice about a clan meeting. I totally missed it and didn't even realize I had missed something until a day later since the PM was sent just hours before it occurred. I sent a PM about it, and the notices have been nice and early ever since.

I know that everyone involved in the higher structures of the clan are very busy people that work long hours at their job and then work long hours here, but I think that some more formalized notification structures can really help the clan. I think many people don't participate simply because they haven't received enough notice. The next Scrim sticky notice is nice, and I read the Scrim thread about five times or more a day just to make sure I don't miss anything. However, I still missed the eG vs. e scrim because it would seem that the only mention of it prior to that day was the calendar which didn't specify who was participating or which server it was on. The sad thing is that I was really looking forward to a scrim with the eGs participating, and I missed it.

So, my proposal is to create some basic "rule" that states that all events, meetings, etc have at a minimum a 24 hour notification period. This notification should always be put into an appropriate forum with its own thread and must include any relevant detail. For example, clan-wide meetings would get a thread in the General Forums, any type of scrim or contest gets a thread in the Scrim/Event Info forum, and so on.

I suppose it's quite possible that the off-the-cuff announcements occur either because you want people to always jump on the forum and dig around for new stuff or that things just happen on the fly sometimes. If that's the case, ignore all this.
