Youtube vs. Twitch

So I'm planning on doing either a Youtube channel or a Twitch channel, would you watch any of this? Also which would be easier to say, make some money off of, as well as ease of creation? I've been told by Honorbound and D4rth that I have a soothing voice, so maybe that would help too. Danke

meh, heard twitch is more into live streams and not into those. though some people are.

This is the best option.

For me, the problem with Twitch is that I might be busy when someone I want to watch is live-streaming, but I can watch YT whenever I want. A lot of my favorite comp players have recordings so that's great b/c I am rarely able to check their livestreams.

On the flipside, Twitch is very niche-oriented so you're going to be able to bring in better traffic, as everyone there is already a gamer/gamer fan.

So a good plan is to livestream on Twitch, try to build a following there and also post the vids over to YT and build a following there and then interlink the two. People who follow you can then choose which network they prefer to interact with.

Ease of creation really depends on how much knowledge you have in this area already. Both are equally simple, which is why they are so popular.

For making money, look into the Twitch Partner Program. Making money on YouTube is a harder nut to crack so don't expect to retire on it soon but it's possible when done well. It's all based on your traffic so you need a lot of legitimate traffic. It can take 2-4 weeks to see the results of your efforts and to start getting indexed so don't give up if you see nothing happening in the beginning.

Also, are you versed in SEO at all?

You're welcome. Once you're set up, I could send you some links to good starter YT SEO techniques. It's basic stuff like naming your video title and description correctly and putting in correct keywords so your videos are found by more people. If you're interested when you get to that stage, just shoot me a message or something. It's not overly complicated at all.

We have 7,443 subscribers on a SWTOR YouTube account that we've had since Jul 4, 2011 but a good portion of our YT views comes from our Facebook page with over 35,000 likes and also from Google/Google +. The best way to start new and still get decent traffic is to get at least a basic understanding of SEO.

I say Youtube is better.
Mainly because usually people would prefer to play with you rather than watch you playing live.
Secondly, I'd like to say that generally, people who watch streams don't have the opportunity to play with the streamer, because either he's "famous" and when you try to join his server, it's full, or he plays Paid Games or on "Paid" Servers (or Both).
Also, you can make montages on Youtube.
But, as some people seem to prefer Twitch, you could do that as well and, as some people said, upload the highlights to Youtube.

I know nothing about making money off these, so I can't really help you there.
