4k UHD Gaming!

Okay guys. I am going to do it.

I am going to purchase two AMD Radeon HD R9 290x graphics cards (starting with one since they're $5-600....) and I am going to set them up on a TCL 50" UHD TV. I've seen people play games @ 4k on a single GTX 680/690 or even a 7970 GHz OC Edition, but I've seen others say you need a couple R9s in order to reach 50-60 FPS maxed out, which is what I'd like to achieve.

Hopefully I can sell my current card to get a little bit of cash towards the R9. It'll take a while to get everything, but it'll all be totally worth it.

Good luck with it. I personally think it is all a waste of money, but I am not trying to discourage you at all. If nothing else, that rig will last you a really long time! I haven't gotten on board with this whole "4k gaming" bandwagon yet.

I will enjoy seeing screenshots and/or game play video when you are all set though!

I watch Frankie on youtube play a lot and he plays in 4k and says everything looks mighty beautiful. Now it is a ton of money, so I'm taking it slow. Going to start with a new ultra widescreen monitor, then a new graphics card, then sell both my monitors and get a UHD TV, then another card if needed.

Frankie makes me want to buy Arma 3 just for the cops and robbers mod =/

I love that mod! The Altis life mod is awesome, you can get the same mod in Arma 2, it's just not as good.

Frankie plays all of his games on a single GTX 690 graphics card.... I never even knew that card was powerful enough to play games @ 4k resolution...
