you have no "materials" folder in your "tf2" folder? If not, then I guess you can just make one, but it should be there.

Are you sure you are looking in the right place?
 
i had the materials part but there were no other folders in there!!!!

Ive already sent garden a pm asking to sticky this... but it seems that i made this a long time ago and then lafinass made one randomly AFTER i made mine, and his was stickied but not mine >.<

but ya it would be awesome if they could sticky my hard work =/

this doesn't make it transparant? nice tut anyway! note: it's input instead of imput
 
yea if u want to make it have a transparent background you can easily do that in pain.net, just use the wand and delete the background color. also i use macromedia fireworks but it costs money =/

btw i changed it to input idk why i put imput i guess i was stupid back then xD

but don't you need to change something in the .vmt file then ? like maybe add the line: "$translucent" "1"
 
Im actually not sure, although i have made transparent sprays by not doing that. All i did was make it transparent in the tga file through paint.net :D
 
to make transparent sprays you need photoshop and saive the file as .png then when you bring it into VTF edit you just follow fuse's tut but change "yourpicture.jpeg" to "yourpicture.png"
 
You can make it transparent with photoshop although i was able to make the sprays transparent using pain.net
 
thanks for the tutorial

im having a couple of problems, when i download any of the pre made ones from your like they are all .rar files and i cannot open them , i get error message sayin .rar is not supported or something,im not very technical but im sure its probly an easy fix if anyone could point me in the right direction id be greatfull :P
