New PC build need opinions

WIN 7
DVD burner etc
2x1 TB Western Digital HDs (recycled)
SB Audigy 4 (recycled)
2x XFX 8800GTs SLI (recycled for now)

I'd really like to get the 6 core i7 3930 (for future) & a Titan if I could afford it but got 2 kids & also need a new car & my daughter wants me to get a Chevy Equinox, so please critique my build but be gental I bruise easily lol.

If anything upgrade the video cards because theyre ancient compared to pretty much everything else. Other than that, just put the idea of upgrading your build far in the back of your mind because getting 2 new vehicles will easily cost more than a simple computer build. Gotta take care of priorities first. I know how ya feel tho, seeing as how my current build (seen in my sig) hasnt been upgraded in 2-3 years. The last upgrade was the memory or my cpu (its been so long I cant remember which upgrade it was).

Overall, if you work on getting aside enough $$, then tell us what your budget is for a possible upgrade & we will give you suggestions from there.

Personally I'd take the money from your case and get faster RAM as well. Graphics cards need updating, if not for performance then at least for DX11 compatibility. Don't bother going with SLI/Crossfire unless you're getting Titans/780s/290x's, and even then you'll see more of a return else where.

The RAM speed is fine. You won't see much improvement above what you're going for already. And if he's recycling the GPUS to be re-used, then duh he should go ahead and use them in SLI. Don't be looking for a Titan to replace it though; the cost/performance isn't worth it in my opinion. The 780s/290s are better picks and won't break the bank.
