HBOGO error... ever seen this?

So bear with me... I know this isn't a typical post here, but I've been asking around everywhere (reddit, hbo forums, other forums, etc) to try and find a resolution.

So I'm trying this on a custom built computer, and have had no problems with it until trying to watch on HBOGO. Other than that... I have no clue why this might be happening. So basically, with any show or movie, I hit play and everything comes up as normal at first. The HBO intro music plays, and the rating for the show comes with with the warnings of nudity/language/whatever. Then the loading symbol comes up like it's buffering, and then my screen just completely craps out (picture below). Sound continues to play but my computer is basically disabled at this point. I have never seen anything like this before, so I have no clue how to proceed. It almost looks like the static you used to see when you flipped to a TV channel you didn't have (except for the sound - it plays the sound of whatever show it is)... I also have to flip the switch on my computer to restart. HBOGO works fine on my other computers, and changing browsers does not fix the issue. I've also tried tweaking the flash plug in, but nothing...




Anyone seen this? Or have suggestions on how to fix it?

Have you contacted HBO at all to see if other users have reported the problem? The first thing I would suggest is make sure all of your drivers (mainly your graphics) are up to date.

This sounds like it's stuck on a kernel resource, which is usually a buggy driver.

Sorry guys... yes I have contacted HBO through support and the forums. No one really seemed to understand my problem haha, even with the picture I've provided. My drivers are all up to date, and it has spanned several months and several versions of the drivers. If it's a buggy driver, what do you recommend? Because I've used several different drivers and it doesn't work on any of them.

Unless someone else says anything, the only thing I know to recommend is to replace the video card even if the card is at or above the requirements to run HBO. Kind of crazy that HBO support couldn't help you. Unless there is something installed that is blocking the video, it is a video card problem for sure.

You said you tweaked flash.
Have you tried upgrading flash to the latest version?
I had a similar problem with youtube on my parents computer. A update to flash resolved it.
Also try a different browser.. flash can act slightly different on different browsers.. IE vs Chrome.

if it was a TV your getting raster but no video so based on that your losing the video signal some how....

Up to date drivers doesn't exactly mean compatibility for everything.

For instance, I currently experience the same issue with Smite. This is because of an engine change. I have to play smite on other PC or be willing to change my hardware. There's nothing wrong with my hardware, so I just choose to play smite usually late at night.
