current log-on advert

Anyone else annoyed with the current advert playing when we log on?

There's no window to close it, and it's both very loud and very long.

I've been hearing a lot from pubs and non-DS members the past 24-48 hours (cs_italy to be exact).

I know typing motd each time will clear it. I also know ads generate revenue. There have been a fair amount of complaints as they are audible in game and some of the newer players don't know how to make it stop.

Problem is, it's LITERALLY twice as loud as the game sounds (for me, anyway), and it's well over 30 seconds long.

It's only the current one, that's been on there about....maybe 2 weeks now.

In order to turn off the ads, just type !motd while you're in game.

It should stop after that. Hope that helps.

I have 1 extra ds lite code left over from a contest.

You can have DS lite for 1 week from the redemption point. Make sure you're logged in while redeeming it, just to be safe.

With DS lite, you don't get the forum achievements of forum title, but you get the in-game perks and no ads on our websites.

It's especially helpful for people who play Source games like we both do.

Anyways, enjoy a week of DS lite. Sorry you were having problems on our servers for so long.
