Don't play 3 rounds of basketball when you aren't very athletic and haven't even gotten your lazy butt off to go for a walk. Results are you will injure your body and that's exactly what happened with me. On the last basketball game I pulled by back really bad. Walking, even moving my hips left or right with moving my hands , laying down, they all simply just make my back hurt. :facewall:

All I got out of that is that I need to cross you over and snap your ankles. Jk dude that sucks, i've rolled my ankle enough times playin ball but never hurt my back, knock on wood
.

It sounds like you might have a pinched nerve somewhere if it affecting your back as well. Not much you can do about that besides take it easy! I hope you feel better soon!

Like Jaalexx said, just take it easy and slow and don't do anything quick or intensive. If it persists, should go see a doctor just in case it's something more than you thought it was. Hope you recover soon, though!

I feel your pain, btw. I play basketball 4-5 times a week and I've hurt almost about everything I can hurt myself in while playing basketball, just short of breaking something >_<

Ibuprofen... The miracle worker. I hurt my back every now and then... as long as its not a slipped disc or nerve being pinched, just a pulled muscle, then I find that a heating pad really helps loosen things up.

And it super sucks to not be able to find a comfortable position. Standing, sitting, laying, stretching, all feel the same? time for a few beers and a shot of tequila :)

I took me a nap and it's gotten a lot better. I can lay down and walk better, but even a sudden movement can send some sharp pain.

I took like 5 Ibuprofen (200mg) and it really didn't do much. 3 (500mg) Tylenol last night did nothing really either. I almost had to crawl to bed.

Sucks you hurt your back. You should look up some physical therapy Youtube videos for your back. Some simple stretches make a ton of difference.

Better yet, you could get a massage and/or a chiropractic adjustment for less than $100 American.

Just wait till you hit your 30s...

noooo quiet you shhhh [tries not to think about it] dont you know we stop counting after 21 and maybe 25 for those with car insurance. :x

It's ok mas, just close your eyes, cover your ears and go lalalalalala. It will make everything better.

I hear ya man! Played a few games yesterday, my thumbs were killin' me! ;)

Guys I would like to say remember you have only one body and when thats stuffed you are stuffed so be careful when you do things.
When I was young I used to go scuba diving down to about 60 feet and did not compensate on the way up, it wasnt until I stopped diving I read that not compensating even at that depth could produce air into the joints and give you Arthritis. I think that must be what got me. So do be careful with yourselves and look after your body.

Ok, long story short....I've always used the term Back Quack for Chiropractor's however.....

I pulled my back out at 19 and was laid up for days and not 100% for three weeks....

did it again at 30 and I was 98% in three days....difference? I went to the Back Quack at 30. (Thank you Wife!)

It can really make a difference. I HIGHLY suggest it.

Get yourself a foam roller for your back and get back into shape. Active warmup (jumping jacks, air squats, pushups) before exercise is essential. Save the static stretching for after your workout when your muscles are warm. The WORST thing you can do right now is go back to your couch potato workouts. I'm not a physical trainer, but I did stay at a Holiday Inn Express last night.

ahaha

I'm like maybe at 80%, but every now and then I can't bend at certain positions to pick up a lighter across the table or flush the toilet without pain. It's bearable and passable if I put my hand behind my back. I think I may have pinched the nerve in the back near the hip joint. The fact that pain relievers really don't work point to that as the issue and it seems slightly tight/swollen at times. I have stretched, reaching a gripping point between the kitchen and living room to stretch out the back and bending over touching toes. Not sure if I'll be 100% by the weekend though, we'll see.
