Building a computer

Well, today I decided I need to build a new computer. My old one is completely dead and I have been using my crappy laptop to play games. The only problem is that I dont exactly know how to pick the parts. This may seem tough but I have a $600 budget. If anyone could get a list of parts for me that would work that would be great. For performance, I really couldnt care about the quality of the games, just something that runs games somewhat smoothly.

Sorry on the late reply never saw this post, but do you already have a keyboard, mouse, case ect. Do you have anything that will cut the price down on your new computer, used parts that you wouldn't mind using again. Also, it would be nice to know what was in your old computer to see what could actually be used !

Definitely not the cheapest. I find better deals on my own and at local stores. Its just a generic online store price comparer.

That power supply is so over kill for something that will only use half of the power. He can save 50-60$ on that. RAM is a little on the high price side... I'd probably look for something a little less. Corsair sells 4 gig sticks for like 20-30 bucks. It'll give him some extra cash to upgrade the graphics card to something a little better too.

Unless you're talking about a local store that carries Corsair memory for under $40, then this would prob be his best bet. I searched both Newegg & Pcpartpicker.com for the lowest possible prices & both came up with this. I just hope that the OP can afford to set aside a little bit more $$ in the future to get heat spreader for enhanced performance. Also most video cards cant work under 400w, so I chose that power supply to give him a cushion. This way he can have a little room to choose on the video card.

Now I would like the AMD experts to come in & give advise on the best video card to replace with the 1 I have already posted.
