found when playing around with tf2 files in g-mod.
Was the Nail gun a prototype of syringe gun?

Are grenades still coming? Their names still are the same. Like nail or MIRV or Namplam and new ones like heal

Other melee weapons?(crowbar YES)

People have seen the spy's silver rifle in the trailers of tf2 but we got the black revoluver(sp?) instead but was there a prototype?

?????? Flag + giant needle seen in trailers

the demo's dynamite pack as seen in trailers

So thoughts on this?

I found these while poking around in my steam games folders as in it was created by valve not someone else and someone with g-mod should find them also by accessing their tf2 folder through g-mod. I think it was Team Fortress 2>weapons>w_models.

the nail gun was going to be the scouts weapon, I hope its one of the unlockables...

Well, if they kept the models but not the textures, that makes me wonder if there isn't some code or other behavioral stuff already worked out for those objects, and the big achievable weapons update will maybe add textures and make them available. That would be keen.

i heard that a bear trap might be one of the new weapons for the sniper. 2nd pic, on the far left: that looks like one to me

I doubt the bear trap is going to be one of the new unlockables. In the interviews I've read and heard, they've seemed to stress that they're going to be weapon modifications, not new weapons.
Though I could be totally wrong, and a bear trap would be sweet. =P

This was discussed on the official TF2 forums way back when the game was first released. The official response is that they were models left in the files for testing or historical reference reasons. "The grenades are not coming back;" that is an official response as well.

I don't know how relevant it is to the unlockable weapons stuff, but twice now, I've had 9 stickies down as a demo on normal servers. I could see some of the unlockables being things like making the grenade launcher a six shooter to match its barrels and increasing the number of stickies, or making them more powerful. Soldier could get five rockets, the sniper could get a pistol that would actually look like one a spy would use, the medic could get a faster ubering health gun, or his syringes could carry poison, etc.

That's just a UI glitch. Sometimes the counter doesn't reset. I can't count how many times I've blown up all my stickies and saw a "1" in my active stickies counter. Right-clicking wouldn't make it go away either. After shooting out eight more stickies, my counter said "9". If I det, the counter would go back to "0". This glitch can run a little wild at times. I've had up to "11" on my counter at one time. I'm not sure the exact cause, but it's not out of the ordinary when you play demoman often, and it has no impact on how many you can actually have active at a time.

The point of the unlockables isn't to make them a total upgrade of the original weapon. They're meant to be an "option," with an upside and downside. Oh, and the medic unlockables have been out for a while now. They'll make good examples of how Valve balances things a little:

The Blutsauger (new syringe gun) does much less damage, doesn't crit, but heals the medic when it hits. This healing is usually worth it; you'll take longer to kill someone from direct damage, but you'll have a better chance of living that long in the first place.

The Kritzkreig (new medigun) ubers faster and its uber gives a 100% crit chance, but doesn't provide invulnerability. This makes it limited.

The Ubersaw swings slower, but charges uber on a hit.

Adding more ammo isn't the kind of upgrade Valve has in mind. If upgrades were a pure improvement, with no downsides, players who have unlocked weapons would far outclass normal, casual players, which would alienate anyone who didn't want to spend weeks on unlocking the new weapons. Personally, I'm glad TF2 is still an FPS, and not an RPG. CoD4 went closer to the latter in its online play, and there's a huge imbalance between new and old players there.
