but not like this one. Stairs to nowhere.
Oh that? That happens to me all the time.
It's easily fixed. Type "record 1" into console then "stop".
In fact, it happened to me so much I actually bound my f3 to "record 1; wait 135; stop"
"Stairs to nowhere"? An interesting concept but I assure you it's not so cut and dry.
In order to understand the deep meaning in this sign we must first dissect the phrase itself.
(1) Stairs. Stairs represent some sort of trial or obstacle. In order to overcome said obstacle you must exert effort. Whether this effort is in the form of a step, or to scoot up one stair at a time on your but because you sprained your ankle, is a decision for the overcomer not for me.
(2) To. "To" is debatable the seventh most important word in the English language. The use of such a word may give a clue to who the person stating the phrase is and what his purpose was for giving you a staircase in your game. "To" is a word so common in usage it was probably the first word thought of at the time. Meaning the culprit who inserted a staircase in your game clearly was not thinking very hard when he committed this prank.
(3) "Nowhere" Clearly the being to blame purposed for you to use the staircase. The staircase would, not leading you anywhere, greatly hinder your ability to participate in the game. And since you are an engineer it would therefore prevent you from caring for your constructions.... Eureka!
The staircase is an enemy spy trying to sap your sentry.

You're way overthinking this. In fact, you presented the true meaning but were so blinded by the obvious that you ignored that which was right in front of you. Let's look at the phrase again: "stairs to nowhere". First off, count the words. There are 3 words. Now, let's count the letters. There are 15 letters. 15 is a multiple of 3. "sta irs ton owh ere" can be broken down into 5 sets of 3 letters each. 5 is the first prime number to come after the prime number 3. 5 is also the next number in the Fibonacci sequence after the number 3. See that pattern here? Those stairs are an announcement to the world that Half Life 3 is coming."Stairs to nowhere"? An interesting concept but I assure you it's not so cut and dry.

This is the first thing that popped into my mind.

That's because great minds think alike![]()
Actually, yes. No delay = no effect. I played around with wait times and the magic number (for my latency anyways) was somplace between 75 and 100. Meaning I started out with 0, then 10, then 25, then added increments of 25 until success. After that I didn't feel a need to narrow it down any further. For all I know 76 is my magic number...or 99 is.if the wait command is disabled it just records then stops it immediately, but is the 2 second delay needed?

I was with you up to here, but I think you missed the true point. We have 3 words, 15 letters, 15 is a multiple of 3. 1 + 5 = 6 and 6/3 = 2.
Triangles have 3 angles, with an addition of the all seeing eye in the center you get 6 angles total. 3 sets of 6 = 666, a multiple of 3 and the Mark of the Beast. Clearly those stairs have been planted by the Illuminati to distract you from something. WHAT ELSE IS HAPPENING IN THAT GAME!?
And now we must consider the points of the triangle. Is it an isosceles, obtuse or acute triangle? Or perhaps something worse, with an even more sinister angle...
It turns out for me, it's not actually 2 seconds. When I tested it that was the minimum it would accept for the script to work.if the wait command is disabled it just records then stops it immediately, but is the 2 second delay needed?
lol wut
