Important TeamSpeak Announcement

<div style="width: 500px; text-align: center" align="center">We have been made aware of an exploit where a rogue client will connect to our TeamSpeak server and lock up / crash other clients using an exploit with BB code. We understand that many of our members are encountering this issue and are unsure of how to repair it.

You will need to access your TS3Client folder, which is within your AppData folder:

C:\Users\PCNAME\AppData\Roaming

From there, delete the folder within the chats and cache folders that contains the long string of characters. You should be able to relaunch your client with no issue.

Johnny, our self-proclaimed handy man, has also discovered an Anti-Freeze plugin for TeamSpeak that will prevent this issue from happening in the future. Download THIS file, run and install it, and enable it within your TeamSpeak client:

Settings -> Plugins -> Lua Plugin.

The Community Manager team also wanted to put out a message in regards to server wide chats or whispers on the TeamSpeak server.

While we will only initiate a whisper for important announcements or global events, we understand it can be rather annoying having a popup come up showing whisper history every time. You are able to disable the popup from showing up within your TeamSpeak3 settings. We recommend that everyone takes a moment to modify your settings to ensure you are not majorly interrupted during a global announcement.

Settings -> Whisper -> Settings for Received Whispers

Uncheck "Always show whisper history when receiving a whisper."

The issue with everyone dropping now is completely different.

This is simply TeamSpeak3 crashing.

I don't even see the folder you are talking about and I see the new plugin, but TS3 continues to stop working right when you start it up. So this is just TS being lame?

You don't need to have access to that folder.

Alternatively, do the following:

1) Click settings at the top.
2) Click options.
3) On the left hand side, click the Security tab.
4) Click "Clear Cache" and this will automate the directions you've been given.

Yeah this works and is much easier

I had to do the following:

Settings -> Options -> Whisper ->
Uncheck "Always show whisper history when receiving a whisper."

Also, there is no AppData folder anywhere in my computer, that I can find anyway

*scratch that, I had to search a few different places, but I finally found it. It was buried somewhere else.

Thanks, I have done all of this now, hopefully no more issues

Thanks for the tips. Hard to do this earlier today, every time I tried to sign in, it wouldn't respond.

Now it works... Tks

I was just about to say that this hasn't happened to me at all when all of a sudden, poof, TS3 lost connections. Followed these instructions and all is well in the Lonewolf household once again!!

HUGE thanks to Drew-X, too who was taking time out of his schedule both this time and a previous time that TS was having troubles to help people get back in. Great job going above and beyond for our community!

I couldn't find it at first myself, but then enabled the view 'hidden' files option and voila. Just thought I'd mention that here in case anyone else runs into the same issue.
