So, January marked the build of my second official all new computer. Here it:

Q6700 (Stock clock for now)
2 gigs Corsair Dominator 1066 Mhz
ASUS P5E
HD 3870
Antec 900 series case
OCZ 900 watt Gamerxtreme PS
2 X Seagate Barracuda 500 gig SATA 3.0 gb/s
2 X Lite-On 20x DVD burner (SATA edition)
WinTV HVR 1600
Envision 32 inch 720p TV/ Monitor
Logitech Z-5500 speakers
Logitech LX-710 keyboard and mouse
 
Ahh, I remember before I had kids, and I could afford to spend money like that on computers. Sigh.

Darn fancy machine you've got there. Enjoy it!
 
Ohh and BTW most people give me crap for getting the Q6700 over the Q6600 but I should mention that I got it at LESS than the Q6600 price :D and I went with the 1066 Mhz RAM because I tested the DDR3 but it had performance the same as what I got AND the DDR2 is half as much
 
On top of that the Cas Latency is a lot higher on the DDR3 RAM too. That's why I went with DDR2 too!

And I have the Z-5500's too. OMG dude! Aren't the SWEET!?!?! I think those are TOTALLY worth the money. They sound better than most home stereo systems I've heard! That sub actually made me laugh when I unpacked it because I didn't expect it to be that big/heavy.
 
asus tech will tell you the p5k, and any asus p35 chipset doesnt like 1066Mhz ram, itll drop it down to 800Mhz and youll hav eto oc it back upto 1066Mhz.....they acctually recomend buying 800 and ocing it up 1066. Just to let you know.
 
Hey Rotten Kid, I'm not a complete noob at computers. It's a good thing I don't have a P35 chipset. It's got an X38 chipset and runs 1066mhz perfect with a noticable differce. PagaN, yeah these speakers, I kid you not, beat my friends car system which was supposedly 300 watts more :). I've gotten the cops called on me by my neighbors twice when I was watching movies because they thought the screams and gun fire were real. hehehe stupid people.
