Latency Woes

So I have been a regular player for several years on eGO Counterstrike Source servers. For I would say that past 1-2 weeks I have been receiving completely random and large spikes in my latency. I have seen upwards of over 200ms spikes. This has been occurring on all eGO servers I have played and no other servers I play.

I have spoken with several admins, whom unfortunately have no way to help me fix this issue. I have asked several players while ingame, I am not the only one who is having this issue currently. I would like to see eGO servers fixed of this issue ASAP please! The possibility of needing a "wipe" is required to fix the issue as this is the latest issue I have playing on eGO servers. However this is the only one where it truly affects gameplay.

Just as a note: I have reinstalled my CSS a couple times in order to rule out something happening on my end. Also hardware lag is non-existent as well.

Hey, There could be quite a few issues causing this to happen however, I am no expert so like Meowcenaries said you can make a thread in the Tech help discussion and maybe someone will get back to you there.

The best thing I would do is Dropbox it since we have leadership members who are excellent with these kind of issues and will most likely be able to help you solve the issue and speak to you on teamspeak etc. They also have access to information on the servers and see if its anything to do with us

Try disabling the motd, I was getting ping spikes and doing so helped

cl_disablehtmlmotd 0 in console, or autoexec

4. Do not install the antivirus
5. Watch cats on Youtube.

Different servers run different ads.

Some people may have it enabled in their autoexec, and so disabling it in the options menu will not work as the next time they restart the autoexec will re-enable it.

There's plenty of reasons why you could lag on our servers.

I don't experience the same issues you have, my latency is constantly around 40-60 MS for our servers.

If you make a dropbox, we'll look into it and try to route out some causes.
