A new MMO that starts open beta today (June 20th).

March into the volatile land of Montel, a continent torn apart by two distinct factions of war.
A precarious d?tente exists between the steam-powered Kingdom of Isenhorst and the magically enriched Erlandir Union.
The two sides have endured countless invasions, and the world has found an uneasy peace on the brink of collapse,
as each belligerent alignment seeks total domination over the increasingly more valuable Black Gold.

Looks like they will have 6 races and 12 classes to choose from (not sure if all will we out during the beta, currently installing). Game has a pretty interesting concept and setting. I personally don't know any other MMOs claiming to be a "Steampunk Fantasy". Will post my thoughts later after I play for an hour or two. Servers will be live at 5pm EST.

Note: Must run the installer as an admin or else it won't work.

Instead of writing a full review, because everyone likes different things in a game, I am going to list some things I like and some things I didn't like about the game. This way, if there are some things listed that I did not like but you enjoy in a game, this might be the game for you.

What I liked:
  • Unique steampunk fantasy setting
  • 6 races and 12 classes to choose from
  • Each race has their own starting zone
  • Nice balance between mech and open world combat

What I didn't like:
  • Button masher
  • Unexciting skill animation
  • Game introduction levels needs some work
  • World is large making it difficult to travel
  • Overall combat is slow and boring
  • Medium-Low experience rate
  • Visuals are not overly impressive
  • PvP combat is fun, but not good for experience
  • Can die from fall damage :(

Overall, it was a nice change from other MMOs because steampunk fantasies are really taking over the world or anything. I just felt that the game lacked in a lot of areas. Not the worst game I have played, but would probably not recommend this to my friend.

5/10
