Just recently, while playing a game, my mouse decides to freeze while an odd sound plays; like when you reconnect something to the usb( it loading up). I switched the batteries and that didn't fix the issue. The lazer/light comes on and after a bit it just blinks. Switching USB ports didn't fix it; even trying it on my dads computer, same result. I cleaned the lazer, went into Device Manager deleted the drivers, then have it redo everything.

I should mention that it's an HP mouse and keyboard combo thing, both work off one receiver? I guess you'd call it that. The keyboard works fine. Even when I switched it to my dads it still works. I then took my dad's mouse, plugged it in the same usb port and it worked just fine. It's also fairly new about 3-4 months old.

The only thing I can think of right now is moving the mouse closer. The hp instructions actually suggest a 1 foot radius and not more if you're having this issue. If moving the mouse closer helps you might have to figure a way to do that. As well metal surfaces or too much material between the mouse and receiver could cause issues as well.

Thanks, I tried that just now ad to no avail it did not work =[. I removed anything that could potentially interrupt the frequency between the two aswell.

Does the dongle (receiver) have a button or light on it? Does the bottom of the mouse have a button as well called 'connect'?
