So I just moved into the new house & believe that the ethernet port is bad (talking about the wall plate). Anyone know how to possibly redo the wiring for either a new wall plate or the connection thats attached to the wall plate? Thankfully theres plenty of cable in the wall, so not worried bout that.

if its a data jack the first question is are you sure its meant for enthernet and not telephone (obvious answer but always like to ask)
second do you have a on q panel or some sort of panel where all the data jacks come into
have you toned the jack to ensure it is hooked up and ready to go for internet
if all the above is yes then for data jacks its just like making standard fittings for enternet (rj45) matching colors to a jack port and depending on the walplate, crimping or attaching another rj45 to it.

Funny you should ask, I did 6 of them yesterday. 
They're really easy to replace with the right tools. Are you talking about RJ-11 (4-pin phone) or RJ-45 ( 8-pin ethernet)? If it is RJ-45, do you have access to the panel on the other end? They can be wired as either A or B, which doesn't matter as long as both ends are the same. The back of the actual RJ45 jacks have a color-coded wiring diagram on them to explain how to wire them, so you can look at the one you have, unless it's a really old one. Then you might have to look at the panel to actually tell...IF the panel is labeled.

So I have some good possible news. I think I figured out how the previous residence actually got the internet out here. I think what they did was just setup an extension out here. I am waiting on my mom to get her ethernet cable out here & what we will do is test it by sliding it out of my sis' bedroom window (the main router is there), while the office (where I get the ethernet cable from) is below it. We will slide it out her window & into the office room & test it there. If I get signal, then theres no need to replace the keystone. However, the actual wall plate will need to be replaced (as its been painted over and was a lil bit of a pain to remove). I do apologize for the delay in this message.

I'm speechless.
So believe it or not, thats exactly what I had to do. Found out that the ethernet port to my lil house is nothing more than an extension. So now my router is in my sisters room & my moms router is in her soon to be office. I had to get another cable to connect to the extension in the wall, just so that I could get internet. But its all chill now. A new lesson learned over here.
