Whould like some input

Sound quality wise you get a lot of "bang for the buck" when it comes to Plantronics. However, thats only true for VOIP and not Music. There are many brands and models out there. It would help if you could specify the price-range you are spectating in.

Razer Kraken 7.1 USB headset is pretty nice. I've been using them since yesterday on DOD:S, and they work really well. Mind you, I don't do voice in the game, so I can't tell you how good the microphone is.
I haaaaaaaaaate people who think turtle beaches have great sound. They will last you a while, but they do not have that great of sound. I'm rocking the corsair vengence 2100 wireless mic and have not found any issues with it yet! It's been a great mic and I recommend it strongly!
Steel series siberia V2 headset is a good headset, really comfortable, not the best on sound, but definitively beats out turtle beaches. Only problem I've had with my siberias is it relayed back static through my headphones and mic and made it really annoying to talk to people. Other then that mishap that happened almost two years later, I have no issue with the headset !

dont really have a price range If there worth it i would spend $300
Just because there is a hype for a product, doesn't mean it's a bad product. There's only one way something can get so much hype, and it's by being a solid build.
Since you are looking at upper price-class category, you really should put your money on a good pair of headphones, and not a headset. The reason for this is that you will find it easier to find a great pair of headphones that are better sounding, better quality, and more comfortable over a ”gaming-headset”.
You will also have a lot more options to choose from.
One of the brands to look at could be Sennheiser, for a good value to quality ratio. Plently of other great brands to select from such as Beyerdynamic, AKG, Bowers & Wilkins and Grado just to name a few!
Bose QuietComfort 15 is a model with noise-canceling that are great too. You need to try them out first, not everyone is a fan of the n/c experience.
Take into account the type of music you listen to, or genre, when you are looking at headphones. Specific ”Frequency Response” ranges suit one genre better then other. If you i.e like to listen to Classical and or Jazz, this plays an important fact.
A good idea would be going to a well sorted Hifi store and just try them out. It differs from person to person if you like in-ear, on-ear or around-ear type of headphones, also the materials they are made of such as velvet, plastic or leather and what not.
As for the microphone;
Few years back, I tested this mic mod/attachment to my headphones and it works and sounds great! It will work on any type of headphones, well, besides the in-ear ones

Thank you for the Great input, I went to a "Hifi" store and tested a lot of brands and models and now I use Sennheisers pc 363d. There Amazing :w00t:
And buying Astro products is not about hype?
