Anime Just starting to Watch

I have started watching anime, and want to know of a good starter one. So far, I have watched a few episodes of Bleach and enjoy it.

As Snipeye mentioned, I would suggest Clannad. Probably the best anime I've ever seen.

the nice thing about anime is theres something for everyone. you have many different types of generes to choose from
gundam wing
ranma 1/2
tenchi muyo
macross plus
bubblegum crisis
gunsmith cats

and many many more. there are also tons of free places to watch a lot of these so you can get caught up in the series

If you watch Dragonball Z, be sure to watch TeamFourStar's "Dragon Ball Z Abridged" on youtube.....and be prepared to laugh really hard.

Go for Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood next for sure, (the original one is good too) Brotherhood ties in closer to its origins in the Manga which is why its recommended more.

After that try these:
Action: Neon Genesis Evangilion, Attack on Titan,
Comedy/Slice of life: Toradora, Ouran Ouran High School Club, Golden Time.

If you want an OMG what did I just watch experience then Gantz is right up the alley, uber gory but yet quite fulfilling.

My favorite anime series however is Initial D, there is a lot euro tracks and car racing down mountain passes, the soundtrack is what made the series for me.

If you want to go into the very deep and emotional animes, I'd suggest Neon Genesis: Evangelion, Elfen Lied, and Cowboy Bebop. Just be ready to shed some tears. Also, Space Battleship Yamato is a great 70's anime.

Don't forget your gundams man ! Gundam 00 (both seasons) is the best Gundam series. also check out gundam Seed and gundam Seed destiny (although seed was alot better than destiny) and check out Gundam X (it's a very underrated Gundam series) .....Full metal alchemist brotherhood is amazing. Check out hellsing, the series and also the OVA versions. and who can forget Dragon ball Z 293 episodes or something like that and There are also 14 OVA's

Please watch anime in japanese with english subtitles. The english dubbed versions of anime completely ruin it.
