Battlefield Division Headset with a mic

Hello fellow BF members.
I need a good quality (both sound and mic) headset. Preferably under $60 if possible. I was putting my name in the July Giveaway for the Cooler Master headset but it apparently got changed to the Keyboard and Mouse giveaway from June, so I'm not sure about what happened there and I stopped, so anyhow, I wish to be more involved with our Teamspeak and even some competitive games but have no mic to communicate with and my typing skills are just a bit over caveman.

With the mic something with good background noise cancellation is needed.

This is the mic I'm using. I've had it about a year and it works great. Dunno about durability because I'm very careful with it - the only annoying thing about it is that if you're not careful, the sponge will fall off and if you're messy like me, you'll have to comb your room for it. But you don't need the sponge anyways. It has simple volume control and an on/off switch on the wire, and I haven't had any complaints that I sound bad. I just posted a link to what it looks like and has some specs, but you may find a cheaper price if you google around. I think I saw a set for $17.99 somewhere

I've got the turtlebeach x12, works great I've had it for quite some time now, I really like it but if I recall correctly it was like $50 I think.

EDIT: Well the Turtlebeach x12s are out due to being USB. I only have 2 3.0 ports now. One for my mouse, the other for tethering.My 2.0 port crapped out on me. I'm on a craptop.

The Coolermasters look nice and sound like what I am looking for, but I can't tell in the pics if they are USB driven or standard 1/8" headphones jack. Let me clear that up. The pics show standard jack input but the Amazon states it is USB. I could be looking at the wrong model maybe.

Logitechs look solid. Will research them a bit more.

Creative Fatal1tys may or not make it due to the earpiece comfort issues people are having.

hey just one note for ya epicfail even if it is a USB port i'm pretty sure you can pick up a usb to audio and mic jacks at Radio Shack for 20 bucks even if you find one that only supports USB

However after researching the presented headsets, I may just go with the logitechs. Mostly the mic design is closer to what I am looking for. Omnidirectional will be a bad idea as I play in an environment that has persistent background noise. The one direction design+noise canceling that the Logitechs have is really what is needed. It'll be about a week or so before I can get them and I'll chime back in when I do to let you all know how they are.

A USB cable on a headset usually means it needs extra power to drive it. Using a USB to 3.5mm jack could possibly do nothing. The headset might not even perform well or at all if that route is used.

Steelseries by far makes some of the better gaming headsets if you're looking for over ear headphones.

I hear more good from steelseries than I do from logitech. I have a pair of G930's from logitech and I am fairly let down on how many times they have failed me. I have been through 3 pairs? Im about to send this third pair in for replacement due to the same problems as the last pair of headphones I have had. They seem to have issues with a battery shortage in wireless headphones. Not sure.

Customer service I guess is really good on Logitech side but if their product was really good I shouldnt have to go through 4 pairs of them.

Go with the steelseries. I am sure you will like those more. (Unless you have massive ears.)

I have the 930 as well and yeah they do have a battery problem. Mine only drains bad when using the faux surround sound. Goes from 10+ hrs to about 2-3 hrs with it turned on.

If you are still getting problems with the battery I would just buy one online for about 12 bucks and replace it your self.

Its a wireless connectivity issue that happens and the battery shorts out. Its fairly common when I talked to the logitech rep and can be caused by a microwave going from like 2 bedrooms away. But I guess they havent really addressed the problem. Its alright. I'll just move onto a better pair eventually.

And it all depends on which Gamecom headset you get from plantronics. They are excellent makers of gaming headsets but the cheaper versions are kinda... iffy...

The Gamecom 780's are the bomb dot com from what other people have said.

I really like them. They sound great and are comfortable for long periods of time. They replaced my old Tutlebeach 7.1 surround sound which I absolutely hated.
