tips to detect a spy

I make a point of running through people when passing them, as opposed to trying to go around them. I've caught lots of spies that way, and it usually takes them a second to realize they've been found out, by which time, they're usually just a smear and some chunks of face mask scattered on the ground.

Yeah that's usually the easiest way I think.

Great detection rules. I tend to go with (1) If it burns like a torch, it's a spy and also perfect for the after game barbecue; (2) If it reacts poorly to a shot in the face (remember: nobody's your friend unless you've given him the friendly shotty blast to the nose), it's probably a spy; (3) If it flies into big chunks after being hit by a rocket, it's a spy and should be tossed in the bait bucket for the fishing trip that goes along with the barbecue. I'm a simple man, with simple pleasures.

If it tries to backstab you, it's a spy.

If it moves, it's a spy.

If it even considers moving, it's a spy.

Thank you. I like to keep a nice appearance.

I was wondered what weapon the other team saw when I was disguised. Now I know I can have the knife out without having my character taking out that class's melee weapon.

The Pyro method of cooking the spy is the best, never fails. Pyros are great for defending sentries and anything else the engineer builds.

I very, VERY rarely get caught until I've started my work. If I've been caught before I've stabbed somone or placed a sap, then I probably ran into a stealthed enemy spy. It's all about timing. I've said it before and I'll say it again, if you expect your disguise to last beyond a casual glance then you've failed as a spy.

Normally I like to share all the tricks I know. But spies are underpowered enough as it is. Unless ur a sniper or heavy chances are u'll kill spies a lot more than they kill u.

If I'm pyro, I just flame team-mates. If I'm sniper I hit them with melee. With heavy just fire 'round you.

Got to make a comment. Spies don't always have half health. I've seen them come by the hundreds with full or 3/4 health.

But yes, Engineers will most likely have their wrench out if alone, and Medics will always have their medigun out if with teammates.

That's a lie and you know it.

Wait, logically that's very exciting. If that statement is a lie, and we all know the cake is a lie, then that statement is cake! Brilliant. What an easy way to make cake.

If you want kills as a spy, it's quite simple actually. Sneak up behind a nice group of enemies and start stabbing. Even if HLStats doesn't like spies that much since they do a lot more sapping than killing, they're not underpowered by any means.
