While the assets and game files remain the same, Dota 2 seems to have been ported to the Source 2 engine.
The proof? Everything that would share a name with Source has "2" appended to the end of it (engine2.dll, vconsole2.exe, vphysics2.dll, etc.).
In Hammer, it asks for both .vmap and .vmf files. Hammer clarifies .vmf as "Source 1.0 files."
The entire console has been redone (no picture for this one).
Different engine dlls are loaded to render different assets, as opposed to Source 1, which kept everything in the engine libraries.
The base directory is "source2."
And in the vscript code, there appears to be tons of references to l4d3.
