Moving players to spectator

I made the mistake of kicking an AFK player yesterday on our Warpath server while I was trying to help seed it. I quickly saw the irony in that, but I just didn't think twice about kicking him after I'd seen he was AFK for several rounds. I apologize for that and I will make sure to be more careful next time, but I wanted to move on to another point. I've asked an eGO or two about spec'ing AFK players but there was confusion about whether or not it could be done. I don't believe it was covered in the recent admin training session, and I forgot to ask then. I'll make this easier with 2 simple questions: 1. Is it possible to force a player to Spectator mode? 2. Is that an eGO privilege only? Thanks!

I spoke to Kendle about this - moving players to spec requires the same access privileges as RCON, so... the only people who have that are Council and Advisors.

Other than that, IMO, if the server is full and they're gone for several rounds, kicking them is fine.

OK, that's what I was thinking. I kick AFK players on occasion when the server is full and they are gone for a very long time and they'll time out anyway. I just made the mistake of kicking an AFKer when I was in the server solely to help seed it for the brief time I had free. Kinda counter-productive! Doh!

It's fine, everyone makes mistakes, dont worry!
My rule is: If they have been gone for more than an hour, then I kick them. A lot of the time, eGO's are in a server, seeding it. If the server's full, i always kick them.

Don't worry about AFKs or Specs, theres an auto kick feature in all of our servers, theres no need to do that.

If you kick any AFKs and/or Specs to let another member in, makes sure you try contacting via text or voice chat them before you do so.
