Why is it that....

Another thing to do while sniping...AIM. I was MGing the plaza for about 10 minutes. Suddenly a sniper bullet wizzed by my head...and another...and I had 3 bullets left. Shot them, FULLY RELOADED, and killed the sniper. He either had VERY bad aim or VERY bad luck.

Yeah, that guy stunk or was so afraid that you'd kill him he was messing up. Noyade, I always own any sniper that sits by the fountain. Nevermind the fact that he can be attacked from absolutely any direction. Cover and concealment are clutch for any role but even more so for the sniper. If the devs hadn't nerfed every dang gun in the game it might be a bit more realistic. But this is neither the time nor the place for another "I hate the devs!" rant.

I didn't say a sniper sitting in the middle would have the best ratio, I just said it was good stuff. It's like wack a mole, but this time the moles have guns.

Plus it's often needed for one of the snipers to be moving up to take care of a mg or another sniper set up around their first flag.

This is true. A sniper is required to take down the enemy's snipers and mgs that prevent the team from pushing foward.
Also, there are players who are skilled enough to take down a lot of enemies before they die when they are at the fountain.

A player should be required to have a degree of skill to be using the sniper, but how can an unskilled player learn if their teammates are demanding for the sniper position. They need practice, and DOD is just a game. We are a encouraging and friendly community of players anyhow. :)

ya i agree. it bugs me when ppl start getting mad at someone who isnt good at sn iper and wont give it up. how are they going to get good if ppl are just getting mad all the time. some people just take it wayyy to seriously i mean i understand if ur having a bad day u get frustrated like i was last night haha but its just a game i mean u dont HAVE to win cause if u do u dont get anything ya kno. its just for enjoyment not to rag on people and yell and holler.

OK so im completely unsure of how exactly my thread for the AVA germans always have less people topic ended up as a sniping tutorial. And someone (I thnk it was Waffle) said that the numbers thing was because the Germans are better, but than wouldn't the Germans have more instead of less?

yea, this thread is pretty funny since it did go from germans being outnumbered to sniper skills. and btw eventhough the germans have an advantage of altitude, they also have a weakness of having too many open spots for the enemy to get into.

Well Mrs. Peirce, we're even, well not exactly. the fat bunnys were *slightly more off topic then this. But yes Noxus, I was VaderO's. Saw a bunch of Vaders so i changed it.

Another thing about the grenades, the allies are downhill as before mentioned, so if the allies throw a lousy grenade, it could roll back and do no damage, or dmage/kill a team member. The germans have it easy on grenade throwing because they can just toss it by the fountain, and it will roll down towards the church, with out really exposing themselves.

Since this thread has changed subjects, I guess I'll give some of my input. I honestly think both teams have an equal foothold over the map. That's part of the reason of why it's my favorite map in the first place. Both have good MG positions if you improvise, both have good sniping positions if you improvise, both have easily accessible yet not completely out of harm's way routes to get to enemy flags, and each weapon has it's own advantages and disadvantages.

Noxus does have a point. The Allies do have that MG spot in the apartment right over the German 2nd flag, and the great sniper spot in the apartment that is opposite the church. That spot is useful to the Krauts also, but more useful to the Allies.
