Hey guys,

I just got B4 and I am 100% newb but excited to play with you all. I messed around in the Test Range a little bit today but have yet to join a multiplayer game. How terrible would it be if I joined when I have no clue what I'm doing? Is this a game where I can just learn as I go or should I spend more time in tutorials or campaign first?

Thanks!

For someone who is %100 new, I would suggest playing the single player and learn the controls to where you feel comfortable. Keep in mind, single player and multiplayer are totally different, more fast paced for multi. If you need some help or have questions, we have a lot of knowledgable members to help you out. Just jump into our channels and I am sure anyone would be happy to help you.

Good luck and add me on battlelog: SUPERJ569

I think I'll also assist in this TF2 Invasion.

Like super said just get used to the commands first. If youve played a couple of fps games before it shou?dnt be too hard. Just hop on ts and we can play some bf4. We can run you through some things too. Make sure to add us on battlelog: MrSajora

Join us in teamspeak and join some of our squads in game, add me if you would like Rizzo083, I like to play as team orientated as we can more points, more fun quicker you learn. But like superj said single player is where it is at play a couple chapters there and then join the fight!

Here's a few tips that you can't go wrong with

NEVER go lonewolf, allways stick with your team, it will help you improve your skill as a player and improve teamwork which is the very key to sucess in this game, keep in mind this game is not COD or source style run and gun, in battlefield you gotta use cover, which is also a great apportunity to use the peek mechanic.

Should you find yourself playing assault ALWAYS go with defibs and medpacks, it will make you a much more usefull player than if you go m320.

As far as the campaign goes, i ran through it multiple times to learn how each weapon handles and how to efficiently utilize the different mechanics

This website has a lot of great tips on how to become good at bf4, it helped me out a great deal when i first started playing

everything posted here is good but also just jump in TS with us and we can give you tips as far as where good places to hide/shoot from and how to use certain guns and vehicles.

Use Medic/Assualt class, get familiar to the maps. Then deviate to other classes once you know the maps.

As you can see there is no lack of helpful members. Good advice about getting use to the controls before jumping in to Multiplayer. After that getting your settings set to where you like them and learning the maps. Join TS and there will be people to help you. Add me on Battle log jtipton55.

Actually IMO I would say engi is a little better to use for most maps because there are a lot of vehicle maps, for maps like locker and tho yeah medic makes sense. (this is only true for conquest).

Well, medic being you can eat more damage

When I first started playing and I still do as a medic I just drop med packs at all the usual gathering points and run back and forth. Full charged paddles on my buddies too. As engineer slams and at mines are your friends too. Find usual paths of travel for most players and drop em. Those are some pointers off the top of my head. Oh also hip fire when things get close and personal. If you aim down your sights you loose that .025 of a second that a hip fire would get you your kill. Also sorry haha, your mini map is god send. Get in te habit of checking it when rubbing and gunning.

I like it a lot!! Thank You gentlemen for our outstanding efforts to help out a Member.

Welcome Insomnia Princess,

The test range is good for trying new weapons and and tuning attachments and settings. As others have mentioned it helps to build skills by going through the campaign. You can also jump right in and stick with a good team on the conquest or shanghai server to get used to team play and how things work. Dont be disappointed if you die a lot before you get your first kill it happens. Some ways to get more points is to spot enemies, hand out ammo or med kits, reviving players, following squad leader orders by capping flags and enemies together get you more points. On some maps that have speedboats you should jump in one with a squad and keep circling the islands killing boats, choppers , and players which can gain points. If you get battle packs that have boosts you use them to rank up more points. When multiplayer games are loaded and you are deployed in game just hit your esc key and under that menu page on the lower right corner is the boosts box just click the arrow and pick a boost. Most boosts that you get starting as a new player might be 25% or 50% and you might later get 100% and 200% boosts with battlepacks. Some players as well stick with certain weapons and attachments that work for them so find what you like. I personally pick weapons based on their stats for accuracy, stability, and the other parameters. I dont just go with the newest weapon when i have a weapon with better accuracy or more attachments to use.

Lies. M320 Flashbang is far more useful in making people rage quit and showing yo skill.

And honestly, just play the game, single player or multiplayer. You will learn in time. Reading these "how you should play" tips is just people's own strategies and may not work for you. Just find your own style by becoming familiar with the control layout, maps, and pacing of the games. Nobody can tell you your own style but you.

Well say you use an average 2 minutes to get one m320 kill worth 100 points, if you toss down a med bag in a crowded area you can easily gather 900 points for 15 points per heal every 2 seconds (Provided i did the math right), if you add 50 points every 30 seconds for reviving you have 1100+ points in just two minutes

I find getting defib kills is a way better way to troll people, but maybe that's just me :p

Speaking of pacing remines me of another tip I would like to share: ALWAYS move at the pace of your team, never do solo rushes, just ever. The likelihood of you dying because you went charging into the enemy like a lunatic is extremely high. Frankly all you achieve with this is that you bleed a ticket for your team. Staying with your team= win :)

Again from a different perspective, on some maps, like Operation Locker (a very good example), separating from your team can be very advantageous - there is stealthiness in going solo. I do this all the time on Lockers and have single-handedly changed the tide of the game for my team by back-capping the flag of the enemy team countless times. You can also sneak past by yourself and hide a radio beacon for your squad to spawn on and cause a ruckus in the enemy flanks.

Then again, maybe you have to be a star player like me to do that.... haha, just kidding, my ego is getting big.... hahahaha, get it? I'm so funny

Really zin?
