64 slots?

The sever seems more laggy and 64 people is way to many poeple for a pub. Plus with how many people use paras, just going to wreck the reg even more.

Game-play is horrible. Regulars will leave. There is more to a game than just lag, and I'm hearing lots of complaints about lag regardless. If it was difficult for T's to win before, now it's extremely difficult.

I just joined the server will no issues with lag at all. :\

I don't think regulars will leave-more kills. Played a couple of minutes and didn't notice any lag( don't play dust that much- I'm Italian :) ). The more the merrier in my opinion.

Lag-wise, 64 player set-up has been fine today. However, with this many players, the issue of para-spamming has really been exacerbated.
It has been BAD this afternoon. I was just on the server for a while, and each round was literally 20+ CTs para-spamming for 2 straight minutes, when before it was maybe 10. It really reduced the quality of the gameplay. Check it out for yourselves. It's just turned into a lazy battle of attrition, no real skills being developed, just para-spamming. You can hear it. Go in when the server is full, it's just a cacophony of paras, the vast majority of which are being used by lazy and/or skill-less CTs.

Not nearly as legitimate.

Well here I am.
Just to start off, Is there a specific reason behind the change? The reasoning of "well the server can handle it, so why not" is completely illogical, and thats the only answer I get in the server. Obviously not a well thought through decision. With that mentality, why not be unique and make it an 80 slot server. I mean everything scales linearly with playersize, right?

Lag I don't care about. Most of us already got used to the no reg xD. But when there are 24CTs and 5Ts left at the 0:20 second mark, 90% of the time and there has been ZERO games where the Ts have won with a full server, its obvious that there is some rebalancing needing to be done. Time has to be increased at least by 30 secs. With 120 flashes, 60 smokes, and 60 nades flying around within 2 minutes, its nearly impossible to "pick" them off. So the need to aim is thrown out the window, and that means more paras! Woo like we didn't have enough already. -.-

Well, like I said, there's more to game-play than just lag. If everything is so hunky-dory, then why are you hearing so many complaints? Why did Sony and Gun Killah express their disappointment with the decision so forcefully that they were banned? Also, it doesn't make sense to tell players in-game that they should complain on the forums and then to also tell them this is a done deal, be quiet, and move on.

Those of us who regularly play on T side aren't in it for the kills. We're in it for the rushes. And those are virtually impossible now. Not totally impossible, just virtually.

Nothing is a done deal. We will legitimately take your suggestions and use them to make the server better.

There are problems to fix and things here and there that need to be improved. But, having more slots open will definitely be more beneficial to the server because I know I've waited for 3-4 minutes just to join Dust2 when it's full.

Can't wait to play on it!

BUT DON'T FORGET ABOUT HIGHSCHOOL :)

I know how the rushes work on the T-side. So that's why it's better to have more players. Of course a rush wont work when the team is not organized(God knows how many times I got killed in these "rushes"). When the whole team rushes together you got a very good chance to win. But when somebody says let's rush A long or short and you have almost half the team camp in spawn or hide behind the gate or go B you will never win(and it happens a lot). It's all about how you organize these rushes. Best way to rush is to flash and smoke a lot and have a team that sticks together.

I'm a regular rush caller. Herding 24 cats is tough; 32 is exactly 33% more difficult.
