New Headset

I bought the headset I have now a couple years ago when I first started playing PC games. I bought it because it was cheap and I didn't think I'd be using it that much. I was wrong. I ended up really into PC gaming and used it all the time. I use it now every day when I get on and play. Now, it's starting to mess up and every now and then, I'll lose sound either in TS3 or in game because it jiggles around in the USB port. I know I can fix it, but I think it's time to retire my headset and get a new one.

The one I have now is a Logitech H390. I'd like some recommendations about new headsets. When you recommend it, really sell it to me. Tell me the pros, the cons and (most importantly) the price. Let me hear it guys. I need help with this

I have those headset right now. Not a huge fan of them and would not recommend them to someone.

I know of another in clan that had them and also had a bad experience with them.

He had problems with the battery life being abysmal which is a very common problem on them. I have not had that problem (had them now for almost a year) but had trouble with the micro usb connection to the headset being loose and not able to charge them.

I got them on sale last christmas and for the price I'm really not impressed by them at all.

Pros:

7.1 Dolby surround sound, extremely precise if you listen to in game footsteps to locate their location

8 hour battery life after 10 months of use, Started out at about 12 hours of battery life, lowered to 8 is still pretty good.

Pretty comfortable headset, not weighting a ton and sits well on your head

Noise cancelling, you can however remove one of your ear muffs, and play with one ear muff on and still have great sound quality.

They look bad ass.

wireless !


Cons:

No muting function on the headset itself. How ever there is volume control on the headset.

Ear muffs could be a bit bigger, seeing as that's the only thing uncomfortable about it

Stay away from the Logitech G930's specifically. That headset has very specific and reoccurring problems that happen on every one of their headsets.

I would recommend something from the steelseries line up. Some of the Razer headsets are actually quite nice for what they are. Which is a gaming headset.

Since when did anyone bash logitech? They are a great company with great customer service. The specific recommendation that ALEX said just happens to be a very faulty product by logitech. I would know after going through now 4 pairs of them.

Aye. Was not bashing just giving you some first hand with said product. I'm still using the 930's and for the price and what you get I would not recommended them to anyone.

Well, I personally do not like logitek anything. All of their products are too big and work best with bigger people. Most of their products are really heavy and bulky. They're not that bad of a company, but I do not think it suits you. You could get a much better product for your personal use if you went for a different retailer. They're not that great at making products over all gaming friendly. They have their ups and downs and could be potentially bought for specific needs. Over all, it's not a good choice to go with them and you can get something that works well for everything that you do.

Well thanks for the suggestions and help guys! I was just joking about the bashing Logitech comment. I just thought it was funny that multiple people came in talking about how Logitech messed up with the 930 lol. Now, I know to stay away from the 930 (which I was actually looking at a couple months ago). I'll definitely give these suggestions a good look and compare to see which one would fit me best. Thanks again for the help!

I didnt recommend anything either because you didnt specify a price point. I could recommend a $100 pair or a $2000 pair. So there is no point to recommend anything unless you give a price point. Even though I am going to guess that its less than $150.

I myself have the Logitech g430 and absolutely love it.

They are very comfortable and lightweight. Have worn them for hours with out any comfortably issue. They don't make your ears sweat when wearing them for long periods of time, I find that the both games and music sound phenomenal through them.

The mic is flexible and can pivot up if not in use.

I am impressed by their durability. I have hardwood floors and have knocked them on the floor several times with no breakage, plastic chipping off or other cosmetic damage with the exception of scratches.

If you have other Logitech components such as a gaming mouse or keyboard. It uses the same software for configuration

The only con i do find is the the mic is set on the left side and headset cannot be flipped to wear it on the right side

My daughter has the G230 headset. which is the same design but in a stereo config.
