MOBA Games

I don't know if this has been suggested before, or if this is the right place to put this post, but I was having a discussion the other day about eGO and MOBAs. The idea came up that it might be a good idea to just have a MOBA division. Not everyone likes the same MOBA. This we we could have LOL, DOTA 2, SMITE, etc... When Heroes of the Storm comes out we can add that. These games can be added to the MOBA division through the usual channels (the op:x division). What do you guys think?

I feel like this is a very good idea.

You can have so much going on in the division since there are so many ranked matches and such going on between the MOBA's that we have now. I feel like a division like that could prosper.

We do. Hazel is suggesting that we convert LoL, Dota, Smite, and other mobas into one division separate from Op:X, called the Moba Division.

This is what the OPX division is for. They're testing, and developing games for eGO. We're not going to create a new division like we did with STRAT. All non divisional games will fall under OPX. If the games draws enough of a player base within eGO, we will create a division for it.

I sure hope the format supports eGO involvement. I play with a lot of the TF2 and Op:X Gmod division guys all the time, but it doesn't seem like LoL, Dota 2 and Smite are good for more than 5 players at a time.

Yes I think it would be fun. ECs might have to get a bit creative on events so that everyone that wanted could participate but with guild/clan functions and with the millions and millions of people that play MOBAs, I think a MOBA division could thrive with a few dedicated leadership.

not hard to host events with dota at least the others don't have custom mods/workshop

Unless there is a special event, the max amount of players you can have in a game are 10. So, when I host the custom aram event, we can only fit 10 people. It still isn't that much but that is how most of the moba's work.
