FYI - Most places you reserve with a credit card or a small deposit. You are not charged till check out.

In Las Vegas --- you pay at time of reservation, the entire hotel cost plus tax. Only the resort fee is paid at time of check-in.

Probably because they need to ensure they are paid when as lot of people lose the rent,
