Childhood Video Games?

What video games did you grow up with?

I grew up with Pokemon Leafgreen, Crash Bandicoot and a little bit more.

I am actually more thankful for the games we have today like Call of Duty, Garry's Mod and many others. They are much more entertaining to me really. Please don't kill me for saying I like Call of Duty.

Hmm. I grew up with Chrono Trigger, which is one of the reasons why it's my favorite game of all time. I grew up with it even though I was born when it came out, thanks to the Wii's Virtual Console.

Pokemon Platinum was my childhood and I still play it all the time. I convinced my mom and dad to buy me my first M rated game, Skyrim, when it came out. I was 11 or 12 at the time, so that game brings back cheerful memories.

Also, Zelda. Wind Waker and Twilight Princess were a huge part of my childhood. Wind Waker is my second favorite game, right behind Chrono Trigger

I have played Chrono Trigger once or twice. Never gotten into it, but heard it was a great game.

I also like Wind Waker, it's my favorite Zelda gaym evar.

I grew up with Super Mario Land, Link's Awakening, Final Fantasy Adventure, Donkey Kong, and Donkey Kong Country 2 on GB, Joust, Robotron, Defender, and Sinistar on computer (our computer came with them pre-installed), and Oregon Trail, Carmen Sandiego, Pepper's Adventures in Time, Monkey Island, Operation Neptune, The Incredible Machine, and the Island of Dr. Brain, also on computer (but a few years later).

Had a Sega Genesis console in my house when I was growing up. Later we got playstations 1 as well as Gameboy Colors (of course different years and such) as for PC I played a lot of MS flight simulator in elementary school lol. Tekken Games were probably my favorite when they were available on the playstation. Of course I can not forget about games like Doom and Duke Nuke Em as well as many others.

Landstalker and Sonic on the SEGA Genesis were probably what I played the most growing up.

i stated with consoles like the Magnavox Odyssey and Atari 2600 so i started with pong and asteriods and pac man and pretty much original first generation video games and zelda and moral kombat and knock out and pretty much all the originals

I played the heck out of the Timesplitters series as a child. I also grew up with Spyro, Ratchet and Clank, Jak and Daxter series, Sly Cooper, Kingdom Hearts, Guitar Hero, Burnout, God of War, Shadow of the Colossus.

The Legend of Zelda, Half-Life, Mario Kart, I don't know if it counts but DDR as well, GTA, TES and the list just keeps going but im too lazy to name them all.

I'd say X-com: UFO Defense, Jagged Alliance 2, the Command & Conquer series (before Red Alert 3), Age of Empires, and Fallout Tactics were the games I mainly grew up with. Also a lot of Sonic Adventure 1 & 2.

no cross check just shows your from same generation as me cause i did the very same i lived for for Friday or Saturday nights where i could go to local arcade or the skating ring with 20 to 50 dollars from my mom or aunt and skate or play the arcade games all night

i remember being barely tall enough to see the screen or reach the controls but that didn't stop me

we need more 60's 70's or 80's kids on here

Shadow of Colossus. Man, was that a beautiful game.

I personally was first enamored by Runescape. The vast world of an MMO drew to me... So I did a whole bunch of other MMO's. City of Heroes, City of Villains, Everquest, DDO, LoTRO, WoW... I just loved the vast scape of it all.

I'll have to say this started it: It was my 5th b-day gift around Halloween of 1991 and my parents bought me every other sonic game that came out till sonic & knuckles.

I had a game gear at some point with sonic

Then my parents bought me one of these: My favorites were Star fox, super smash, zelda OOT and pokemon stadium.

Then they bought my brothers and I each our own gameboy colors.

last systems that coould be considered "childhood" were the dreamcast and psx, i like the tony hawk games and played Phantasy star online on dial up for hours up through my freshman year of high school.

I won't kill you as long as you don't like ghosts, complete crap... But I remember playing, and still do, my Nintendo 64 with super smash bros. So much fun

We had an Intellivision. I grew up playing Burger Time, Tron Deadly Discs, Lock N Chase, Utopia, and Advanced Dungeons & Dragons, now renamed Crown of Kings and remaining one of my favorite games of all time. (Intellivision just released the Intellivision Flashback console and I am in all sorts of nostalgia heaven)

We also had an Apple II/e with an orange monitor, and on that I specifically remember playing Exodus III and Eamon, which was a text-based game. Trollsfire.

Lastly, I had friends who had an NES, so of course I grew up with the original Super Mario Brothers, Mike Tyson's Punchout, and a few other games depending which friend's house I was at. Dick Tracy or Jaws anyone? Yikes!

Eventually we had an SNES, and in high school we got an N64, plus my dad needed a computer so I would dial up on AOL and search for demos or whatever I could get my hands on. Level designs in FPS games today really pale in comparison to the designs in games like Wolfenstein 3D and Doom.

When I graduated high school I used the open house money to buy a laptop for college. My first multi-player experience was plugging it into one phone line to call my dad's computer on the other line so that we could play Command & Conquer: Red Alert. Those were the days!

Anyone remember Chex Quest? Yeah, I just went there!
