This is it

Wow, I'm surprised that most of you haven't seen the drama in eGO. Word of advice: Don't go looking for it. It gets really ugly, pretty quick.

As for Benuc, I never knew you, but I know how you feel. What I do is distant myself from leadership who I don't know/respect. Just because you have a tag before your name, doesn't mean I'm going to give you instant respect. Respect is earned, not given.

I just play my games now and try to mind my own business.

Also, this is what happens when older "O's" don't get a choice to elect our leadership members. Some folks have been here for much longer than other leadership members.

Personally, I don't think we should be saying anything about "playing the victim" here. It's a goodbye thread, and it's probably best to leave it at that. I think it's obvious that lately there has been some unnecessary drama going around with shots from more than one party, and I feel as though all parties feel responsible in some way.

Regardless, I think eGO is still a great place to hang out with friends and play games. It's silly to think it's only becoming a high school with just a bunch of dramatic kids. We all still have fun! I don't think we should use this thread to perpetuate the idea that eGO is becoming a reality TV show and there is nothing we can do about it. We just need to sing Kumbaya and wear our hats.

This thread has had more than enough attention and energy and it's time to put it to rest. If anyone else has goodbyes for benuc, you may do so privately.

These are my parting words on this topic:

benuc is my friend. He was one of my RHs. He did a darn fine job at it, too. He filled in when others wouldn't and he stood tall against some who ridiculed him. He helped this division grow and rarely got the respect and appreciation he deserved for his efforts.

Unfortunately, he had some strikes against him as well. He made mistakes, as we all do from time to time. Some mistakes, however, are too big to go without action. I believe in respecting people's privacy but due to the escalation of this matter, I feel clarity is in order.

Disciplinary action was taken against benuc for an infraction he openly admitted to doing. He then decided to quit, (rather than accept the consequences of his actions) and make this post, implying he's leaving because "the bad outweighs the good" and failing to mention his own role in this scenario.

I have no problem with people saying goodbye to him, nor with the well wishes. I believe he and everyone else here is owed that. I believe everyone who left sympathetic comments or kind words for benuc are doing so out of the goodness of their hearts and that is commendable. I also don't believe in locking threads or censoring people unless it is absolutely necessary. This, however, has spiraled into a negative direction and needs to be stopped.

It's done. Let's move forward.

Seriously, though, I think you're right. We all came here for fun and games. I'm sure there's enough drama in each of our real lives (with a baby and wedding coming, plus insane and angry families, I know I do) that we can just leave that behind while we game. I know that for me gaming is my time to relax with friends and have fun. Let's not ruin that!

I want everyone to understand something right now.

Leadership works very hard at developing a community with over 60 thousand registered forum users. Leadership does an outstanding job at day to day activities to ensure the happiness of all of us on our forums.

So if you're here to openly disrespect us and cause issues, pack your bags and go somewhere else. We will not tolerate disrespect from anyone. Treat others the way you want to be treated.

This goes for anyone, not just Leadership. We're all here trying to make our community better then the next.

Any questions? Make a dropbox and talk to the CM Team.

Thanks. I hope we all understand what I'm trying to say.
