Okay, I am going to try and be brief here.

The past couple of weeks I have noticed (not going to name names) a severe lack of respect on TS. Sometimes the respect is a generalized comment or, more often, a comment made that offends another member or members. This alone is not the end of the world, happens all the time, people apologize and move on. We are a big family after all! What has been bothering me, and I know at least one other member, is that some people, when asked to stop making those comments, completely ignore the request. If we are having fun and everything is hunky-dory then fine, but when you are asked to stop doing something, saying something, or acting a specific way and just chose not to hear, then we have an issue.

Basically, I am asking that we try and watch what we say/do, and even more importantly, if you are asked something, especially by a leadership member, please listen, and if asked, stop!

Great post Super and just in case people have forgotten the rules:

EGO Server and Forum Code of Conduct
(Public Rules)

1. No foul, degrading, or racist remarks.
2. No inappropriate or disrespectful sprays or names.
3. All sprays and avatar icons used on eGO servers should be PG-13 rated. No nudity is allowed. Final decisions on what is acceptable are left up to the admins in the server.
4. No drug references in names, chat or sprays.
5. No cheating, cheat scripts, barrier jumping, map exploits or hacks of any kind.
6. No griefing.
7. No F10 or Alt-F4 jokes.
8. No advertising in servers.
9. No names or sprays that advocate or oppose a political figure, political stance, religion or nation.
10. No website URLs in names, sprays or avatars.
11. No impersonating admins.
12. No arguing with, or pestering admins in-server.
13. Do not disrupt the server in any way.
Although players in Battlefield games may use foul language similar to that which is coded into the game, eGO members may not use such language and no player will be allowed to use language in a disrespectful way.
14. Admins have final say in server.

Agreed. I'm not there much, but I've noticed the same. Also while you brought respect up in ts, it should be brought up for the event server as well. I've noticed a lack of respect towards the ECs and leadership members. Talking over them and doing the exact opposite of what you're told to do. If we all want the fun experiences of events, have enough respect and courtesy to follow instructions.

This is also why I don't go in TS anymore. I can't stand the constant name calling, abuse, racism, IT HHURTS ME. I can just about bear an hour of TS with you guys to get through realism, but EVERY TIME IT TAKES AWAY PART OF ME. I know I'm not the only person feeling like this, I found Compton hiding in the servers of Kalt, crying his eyes out over some bullying he faced about his silly voice. THIS HAS TO STOP. One day it's a jokey conversation about someone's funny accent, the next it can lead to rejection and in game DEATH people. WAKE UP. Now is the time to be kind, BE GENEROUS, be friendly, because this is all we have left. ENOUGH HAS BEEN TAKEN AWAY FROM US, we do not need to take more from each other. We are only alive once and I feel like we are wasting it. We should stop attacking ourselves, and start attacking the true enemy here, the BF division. We all know it, we just don't click with them, so why can't we work together to make ourselves better through a mutual enemy? WHY NOT? I know this could be hard for you to understand, but i've bean documenting every time we are mean to each other. I record them all, and was going to make a video of it all, but the problem is the video is now over 22 minutes long. NO ONE WATCHES VIDEOS THAT LONG ON YOUTUBE. SO now there is so much hate, that no one can ever see how bad each other and OURSELVES ARE. We need to bring up that mirror or reflection, that POND OF SELF JUDGEMENT and think about our actions, and our words, and our thoughts, because they hurt. they hurt us all. I want to echo the words of mini here, she is the bravest and most heroic member of our division and world, and she must be listened to and respected. SHE SHOULDNT HAVE TO REPEAT HERSELF. If she does, it will be bad for all of us. So lets all have a bit of love for eachother right? GIMME SOME LOVING. <3

Sometimes we have a similar problem in Op:X, but we usually get it resolved. We try to calm someone down if they seem to be getting angry, that or give them some alone time and leave the room for a bit.

eGO is what we make it. If you act in Teamspeak in a manner that you wouldn't accept from a pub, then you are degrading eGO.

Personally, I think the rated R rooms serve no purpose but to cause problems, but I understand their existence. However, personal jabs, challenges of authority, and just plain ignoring people during events gets old.

My challenge: don't accept it from anyone. From anyone "above" you, "below" you, don't accept disrespect. Call them out. I imagine most of the time people don't even realize their actions are causing problems.

Tonight's event, I think, was a perfect example of how disrespect of the event and rules caused others to not have fun. We had huge delays between rounds and a lack of communication because too many people were busy trying to be funny on the mic instead of trying to make the event work.

Everyone knows I like to have a good laugh as much as the next person, but I guess simply reiterating the rules of conduct isn't enough. Whether it be people grasping for straws of attention with their forum posts or their inflammatory comments on TS, this needs to stop. I have noticed this problem mostly in events, especially when our EC's are trying to host an event. All they ask from you is to stand still for 1-2 minutes and not shoot anyones face off when they are explaining the rules of the event. Is that really too hard to comprehend for some of you? Our EC's dedicate their time and effort trying you make your experience here more enjoyable, the least you could do is the same in return.

This isn't just a problem isolated to the DOD:s division, it's all the divisions. Don't deny it, it exists.

There have been numerous occasions where I've had to talk to people in regards to their comments to me, and they understand and apologise about the matter.

All I can really say, is suck it up, and deal with it in a mature fashion. Rather than making a song and dance on the forums- talk to the person(s) at hand directly- and not drag the whole community into a matter which involves a few people.

Regular members are aware of the rules, and constant pounding of them every, single, time, just gets annoying, and to an extent loses meaning.

Deal with it directly- not getting everyone involved, we know the rules.

Nicoll, I think you missed the point. I made this post because these people HAVE BEEN TALKED TO! Numerous times, by numerous people. They are asked to stop, and they keep doing it. It effects the whole division, when we have 20 people in TS and a group of them are not being respectful. Hurts the whole division.
