Recommendations for Engineer.

Im looking for a good engineer class to try. Mostly weapon and tool combo's that are good for capture the flag. Any Ideas ?

Get the gunslinger so you can go full on mini-sentry. Then grab the widowmaker.

I guess one of my best loadouts is the Frontier Justice or the Widowmaker with the Gunslinger and a Pistol as the Secondary.

Everything is Default for me. But if you want some fun, try the Widowmaker/Pistol/Southern Hospitality loadout.

It's all about experimentation.

Any set works, really. Every single weapon is useful. I suggest you use all of them.

If I had to suggest something, go with a Rescue Ranger so you can repair and grab your buildings from afar. Also, The Jag is pretty useful for getting buildings up quickly.

My standard engineer load out consists of a strange renamed Rescue Ranger, Jag, Pistol. Never messed around with the Southern Hospitality or the Widowmaker that much. I will mostly try a combo of all of these. Thank you for the suggestions!

The best strategy I've found for engie (That doesn't use minisentries for evil purposes) has definitely got to be the Rescue Ranger, Short Circuit/Wrangler (Depending on situation), and the Jag. That way, you can quickly set up your level one sentry close to the front lines, keep it repaired without having to worry about wasting metal that you want to use to upgrade your turret, and also, in the worst case scenario, keep a soldier or demoman from destroying it just long enough for it to build up.

My typical loadout for engie is pomson, wrangler, and jag. I use the jag to construct buildings much more quickly, and the pomson to spycheck and discourage ubercharges. I like the wrangler for the additional defense it provides during a hectic enemy push.

Gunslinger is always a great one. I like the jag for the little bit of extra build time, because you never know when you might need that extra second.
