Question about gary's mod

I just bought and downloaded the game and i was fooling around and I am having some trouble with the guns.

1. I cant seem to get the guns in their hands is there some easy way or do you just have to have alot of patince.

2.I cant make the guns have muzzle flash i tried the emitters but i cant figure those out.

with the emmiters, u have to press a character on your number pad on keyboard. look on the right side of menu to see which 1
