What did You Want to be or Dreamed of Being When You Grew Up

this goes for old and young alike no matter your age


me personally my childhood hero was Johnny Cash because he was a great man treated every one way he wanted to be treated and was kind gentle and fair too all he was same person on stage as he was off stage and he didn't give a damn (sorry) what other people thou bout him and he also wasn't ashamed to admit that he had problems with pain killers drinking or depression an would talk openly about it he didn't ever really try to hide or deny it and if he knew someone had same problems would go outta his way to help them if he could

what i wanted to be as a kid and still do was to be a forest ranger at a state park in mountains or like Yellowstone national park or a game warden or a veterinarian for wildlife and livestock like horses and cattle and goats and of course dog's an cat's too, pretty much all animals cause i love the outdoors i love wildlife and i love all animals big or small always have there all god's greatest creatures and his greatest work and i wanted to do everything in my power to Love, Care For, Protect and Preserve his Greatest Creations For All Future Generations

Outside of my family (because my dad was and continues to be my hero), my hero as a kid was probably Harrison Ford. He was an awesome actor and has done a lot of good things, especially on the environmental side of things. As I loved the outdoors when I was a kid (and because he was Indiana Jones), he was my favorite.

I also wanted to be an archaeologist when I was a kid. You get to be outdoors and see cool history stuff at the same time? Sign me up! I've since moved past that, however, into programming stuff.

My Idol has been Lou Reed since forever.

The first song I heard by him was Walk on the Wild Side. That song defines genre; nothing sounded like it before, and nothing sounds like it since. I was immediately hooked and delved into all of Reed's solo work and Velvet Underground stuff.

He talks about bad things, like drugs, prostitution, suicide, depression, etc.. but he makes it beautiful too. He has a way of saying: "This is bad, and that's good, because bad things make the world spin."

I've wanted to be exactly like him ever since. I was absolutely devastated when he died last year.

Watched the sport with my dad and wanted so much to be like Alain Prost and Aryton Senna.

As crazy as this sounds, my childhood hero was Jim Cantore, the guy on the weather channel. He was my idol because he would go into tornadoes, hurricanes, etc. and would be completly fine with it. I always wanted to be like him, I would literally get up early to watch him every morning.

What did is ant to be? I wanted to be like Jim, he was awsome in my eyes and I still think he has an awsome job.

At a very early age I wanted to be a train conductor. I liked trains. Then for a long time I wanted to be a world-famous musician. Now I'm thinking of being a teacher or an editor.
