Okay, So I haven't done this without having dual VGA or DVI outputs. My current card (AMD Radeon 7700 based MSI card) with one DVI output as well as mini display output.

Without knowing anything else about this card (2 gig memory) can I run a second monitor via the mini display output?

Thanks

Which 7700 series GPU is it? 7750, 7770, 7790? You should be able to run a dual monitor setup fine, you just need to be sure you run a monitor that's compatible with a mini display-port. The only thing that can get tricky is if you need an adapter.

If you purchase the correct monitors, you can actually daisy chain the monitors together, using just the display port and nothing else.

Ah...well then I'm screwed already. Both monitors have HDMI inputs . . . does that help?

Sub.

You can hook up monitors to any ports; They will work together.

Take it from someone who ran eyefinity across 3 monitors on 3 different connector types for years.

So you're using a mini-Displayport connection on a HDMI only monitor?
