Tech Help In-Game Lag

Hello eGO!

So I've been playing games and stuff as usual, but all of a sudden I am experiencing a heavy amount of lag in-game. I average only 60 ping in games like CS:S, and 100 ping in League depending on the game, but I lag like crazy. It's not video lag, either.

My PC specs:

Intel i7 4180 2.5Ghz
NVidia GTX 970
16GB DDR3 Memory
Some weird brand wireless adapter that supports the A and C bands

My internet speed averages 10mbps down and 16mbps up (thank you, slow T-Mobile LTE...) which should be plenty to play online. I'll be calling T-Mobile later to ask about my slow data speeds, but in the meantime what could be causing this lagging issue? I would even force-quit all my background tasks and the PC still lags....

Hm. Do you live with any other people in your home?
They could be using the internet the same time you are playing, Netflix does that a lot I think.
But I'm also not a Technical Person, so I could be veery wrong.

Netflix doesn't take up as much as you think. I'd test your speed on speedtest.net and see what you're getting. If it's lower than what you're paying for, I'd for sure have a talk with your ISP.

Actually netflix eats up a lot of bandwidth. So unless he has an outrageous amount of bandwidth then he will be affected by another computer on the same network eating up the bandwidth.

1) No clue where you're getting the i7 4180, but that doesn't match any known models that I've heard of. And I remember someone arguing themselves blue with me once because CPU-Z labeled their CPU a different way than anyone would have called it. There's an AMD Opteron 4180, but no such Intel i7 model.

Short form: The issue is packet loss, where the game server is not sending you information on time, correctly, or at all, which is causing you to experience lag, despite having low ping and a good video card to process the graphics. The OP worked out the issue must be on LoL's end, but it's escalating to the point that it appears to be ISP related.

Two questions I would pose to you (actually three)...
1) What is your wifi adapter. You say noname brand. That can be significant as the source of your issues could be this simple part.

2) Who is your ISP? Verizon? Comcast? TWC? Charter?

3) Region located? California, New York, Quebec?

Suggestion: Follow OP's request "Everyone who is recently been lagging could you please go to your netlog (/league of legends/logs/network logs) and confirm what I have found."

Start keeping a record of your game and see if you experience packet loss. After confirmation, and assuming your post is saying you're experiencing this issue in other games, change the wifi adapter, and/or contact your ISP to repair your line. I suspect that your ISP will call you an idiot because they cannot see it (when it happens obviously), but they can sometimes place you under "24 hour observation," where they analyze your internet speeds/connection for possible problems, and then contact you the next day with what they saw.

It's a mobile processor. I have the MSI GS 60 Ghost Pro

Right now I'm in Georgia @ Fort Gordon. Probably doesn't help that I'm using a cellular connection but I still hit speeds of 30/10 on LTE. Sometimes higher.

Hey Flame, your problem is exactly the LTE. Even though you may be getting 30/10 it still means nothing because you are getting a very high response time to the server. Now to test this you can fire up CMD and type: ping -t [SERVER ADDRESS] you are looking for a number that has MS after it. Finally to be sure that it's response times you can do another command in CMD: tracert [SERVER ADDRESS]
This will show you where you are lagging. Oh and by the way server adresses will look like 192.00.0.0 or www. somesite. com.
