[Kamikaze Bad Ass]

i did try avg for few ddays but started causing problems with google chrome for me
not sure if way set it up or not but might try again later i've alwas used to use avg in past till recently


what's everyones feedback on search and destroy and CCleaner good / bad? naw or yay?

S&D and CC should only be used if you know what you're doing.

You may end up deleting important information by using these programs. You need to know what you're looking for when you use these programs. I'd strongly advise against you using these programs in substitute of an actual AVS.

I've used Avast Pro since 2007 and have never encountered something Avast Pro could not stop. Most of the virus, spyware, etc that Avast Pro picks up is usually generic findings for me anyways. I would say a handful of times over the course of years have been actual detections. I'm not that risky on my Windows box.

I don't run any form on A/V on my machines, but I'm also savvy enough to know what to do if I ended up getting one.

However, I recommend ESET Smart Security to all my clients as well as Trend Micro
McAfee and Norton 360 are bloated products.
Norton Internet Security however is just fine.

If I use a free one, it's usually Avira Antivir. I've had good luck with it.
However, there is the occasional ad for the full product, but it's usually like "Order flowers from CompanyA.com and recieve 2 years Avira free"

I am surprised people dont recommend MSE. Microsoft security essentials does the job just fine so long as you arent downloading infected material at an ungodly rate. I have not had 1 problem with MSE and it comes with no bloatware.

Different people have various results from different products every year. I think weve gone thru at least 4 different a/v software companies. Started with Norton, then switched to McAfee (which my dad still swears by for some unknown reason), Trend Micro, used ESET last year, but wont go anywhere near that in the future because it kept slowing down our desktops too much (kept eating up too much memory). I just found out bout Kaspersky Multi-Device 2015 5 user for $19.99 (its brand new, so doesnt have any ratings yet), but its download only & my mom wanted something new for an affordable price, & I read the info on Kaspersky & found out hat they're way better than Trend Micro, so decided to hook her up. If anything, im waiting on the email so that I can get the key in order to start installing the a/v program.
