I'm honestly quite sad that someone posted something so frankly negative. This isn't what we as eGO members are supposed to be about.
Not a huge fan of the new logo. Every time I look at it, the two "E" letters in it make me think of wings.
Do you have something against wings? I mean, I could say the same thing but in favor of the new logo. Wings are cool! Besides, look at the current forum tags - they've got wings coming out from the sides of the star.

I will not continue to respond to comments about what should or should not have been done.
I do hope you continue to respond to comments in general, though - I'd love to hear more from you about the design choices and stuff. Typically I don't "get" art until someone tells me about what they were thinking when they made it.
That approach may have muted a large portion of the 'hate' feedback you are receiving.
The problem with multiple choices is it may have alienated more people than it placated. I think Council made the right decision in picking the one they liked the best.
I like the fact that if you rotate the logo 180 degrees around the star without moving the star, it turns out to be the same thing.
I did not see this before and now I see it and it is brilliant. It makes me want to have the logo on a loading screen that rotates as stuff loads.
I am not a fan of this logo, it does not seem to match the theme of the Community.
The theme of the community is friendliness and having fun. I don't understand how a nice-looking symbol could
not match that theme.
I hate to say it, but that sound rather close to Communism, just in my opinion. A group of elites deciding for everyone else.
Except that's exactly the
opposite of what communism is. Communism is "a socioeconomic system structured upon common ownership of the means of production and characterized by the
absence of social classes, money, and the state."
Anyway, now my own 2 cents: I didn't see the resemblance to the word "edge" until Kazoo and Shiznoe pointed it out. But the more I looked at it, the more I realized that that isn't a bad thing. A logo is just a picture that is associated with a group. No one ever said it had to have anything to do, graphically speaking, WITH the group. And in that sense, I really like the new logo. If you want to, you can see how it sorta resembles the word. But on its own, it's a cool, stylish picture that we can point to and say "that's our symbol". In some ways, I think it's better than a logo that actually says "ego" or "edge", because any graphic that sticks closer to the letters is inherently limited by the shapes of those letters. I love how Versed managed to make a cool symbol that stands up on its own merits, without being tied to the word, and
still incorporated the word in a subtle and artistic way. Major props. :thumbup:
My one and only complaint is that the star is too small. I kinda wish it was bigger somehow.
