The Ship???

It looks interesting that's for sure, but I haven't played it at all. Isn't it SIMILAR to Bioshock, only without the big daddies and the dark theme?

i saw the ship and thought it was an interesting concept but i never ended up buying it :/

hehe speaking of buying games ^^ but yeah idk the ship just never interested me that much but ill take a look into it

I played The Ship when they had it for a free weekend offer. Its pretty hilarious, kind of like TF2 its one of those games that you can't take seriously.

I'll demo it this evening after school and work, but for now i'll just give you all a little info on it.

Ok so theres 20 or so passengers on a ship right, and they ALL have a bounty to kill, and you have to hunt them down before the time is over. Not only are you scrambling through the ship to find a weapon to kill with (guns, swords, candlesticks, knitting needles, axes, etc.) but you're also watching your back because someone is also hunting YOU. It's a super exciting game because you never know who's coming for you lol..... you get a name and a last seen location of your target and you gotta do the rest of the work to hunt them down, but if you're not sneaky enough and you make it obvious that you're following them, they can off you and you'll lose your chance to kill them. The first one to make a certain amount of money from killing (certain weapons prices fluctuate for kills, or you can pick pocket all those that died) is the winner! There is seriously so many fun weapons to use though.... You can go to the ships "hospital" and get poisonous needles and watch them puke their brains out until they die! Or you can get flare guns and burn them alive, there are secret passages that you can find that lead you into rooms full of full automatic weapons, shotguns, pistols, swords, katana's, bombs and other goodies!

The other cool parts of the game is that you can't just kill anybody anywhere, you have to make sure you're not under surveillance and there are no guards around, also I think if theres a lot of passengers around you can get caught to! Then you get sent to the brig to spend a couple minutes without being able to get your kill (or can you >:-o ) Last night I found a "prison shank" and my bounty ended up getting caught at the same time I did..... So I stabbed him hahaha, I got him in the jail cell where nobody cared and nobody could see him. There are also cool things you can find to kill with like traps that are preset! Last night I also trapped a girl in the sauna and cranked up the heat to watch her die! Or you can trap them in the freezers in the kitchen and freeze em!

The only downside that I think the game has is the player upkeep... You have to shower and sleep and eat and entertain yourself like the sims kind of, but thats just so you can't run around all day killing, eventually you'll have to get a little shut eye ;-) and if you don't do it at the right time, you might not be waking up! But all in all it's a really fun game, besides the lack of players! The servers have Bots in them most of the time, only the bots are really smart and it's almost just like playing another person! Oh yeah, I got an awesome kill last night this guy went to take a nap in front of a security guard and I was following him, so I couldn't get the kill right there cuz all I had was a razor, but I got to thinking, and I jumped in the bush behind him lol.... then my "being watched" logo went neutral again so I crawled through the bush and cut him up from behind lol.... all while he was snoozing :)

Good summary, Judge. And yes, it is a great great game. I had never had so much pure fun with an online game until TF2 came along. It's almost like a TF match where everyone goes as Spy. It's just so much fun. I think I might have to re-install it now. I almost forgot about that game, thanks for bringing it up!

I played it once and it frustrated the heck out of me, but from your description, it sounds like it might be worth a second look.

I played the Christmas demo in 2005? (or was it 2004). Anyways, I played it everyday until the demo ran out (I believe it was a 5 day demo). Back then there weren't a lot of servers open for the game, and all of them were full (from the surge of demo players). I wonder how many servers are open now.

Looking at my steamapps folder, I still have The Ship files in there >.<.

I'm not sure really how many servers there are but there are plenty for us to fill I know that much. Theres normally only a couple full servers and those get really hard to play in lol.... I figured if we could get some players in there once or twice a month we could run our own, because I think the server is free to run.
