I got a new job as an IT Network Specialist. I am working for a big POS system called Oracle/Micros, for this new job I get to travel the entire US installing and upgrading systems from the newest takeover.

So that's pretty cool. I will try and start to to TF2 again while traveling to give me stuff to do. I get to have all the free WiFi and such. Also this is a salaried position without much expenses. Because of this I may or may not be holding a super secret raffle.

I'm based from Seattle but for this week I am in Baltimore, Maryland.

I think it'd be cool if I got to meet some fellow eGO members during my travels.

**also**
Thinking of changing my name to either Salary Man or Travelin' Man

I thought you meant piece of shiz. Then I realized that you meant Point of Sale.

Then I realized that they're the same thing.

HAH!

I also just started a job today, although I feel my average commute is a bet less than yours hehe.

hehe micros, ive used that before. Its the management system for food and beverage outlets. I use a system called Opera at my job which can interface with that if needed.

Awesome! I don't know if we've talked, but I've seen you in the forums and so congratz!

Woo Baltimore!! Where in Baltimore? I may have to go visit a poor man.

Where were you when we did our last Micros update this September?!?!?!

I almost took a job as a micro installer, but it wasn't on the scale of what you;re doing. It was just a local gig.

Ya honestly I thought it was gonna be a local gig as well but the recruiter asked if I would mind traveling. I honestly love to travel. It's one of my favorite things to do. This includes going to the airport at all times, and finding stuff to do while waiting. Really I do love it.

I get to see new places as well, like tonight I'm gonna go see the White House and some monuments I've always wanted to see

*My next upgrade is once I get my passport, they will be sending me worldwide.

Nice. If I wanted to switch roles, I be a onsite installer, or trainer, at my current employer. They travel all over the world. But, it's not really for me, and I like my current role. Don't fix what isn't broken.

I've been a consistent world traveler for my entire life up until now. In fact this house I live in now is the longest my Dad has ever lived in one place since 1987. I have to admit, after 24 hour flight days I kind of got sick of flying. But it's definitely something everyone should get the chance to do.

I did some installs, upgrades and break/fix POS work when I was self-employed a few years back. Anyway, congrats on the new gig and if you are ever in the Omaha, NE area, let me know.
