One of my mom's friends who works for the Auburn School District as a first grade teacher was diagnosed a few months ago with cancer. Initial chemo and whatnot seemed to hit the cancer hard and put it into remission for a period, but shortly after it was discovered in another part of her body. They continued with other setups in attempts to keep it from spreading, but it just seemed to persist.
And today she (my mom) got a text updating her on Donna's situation, stating that she's been in the hospital for the last few days with her vision fading in/out among other problems. The cancer evidently has spread up into her brain lining and possibly her nervous system as well, and she's been severely downgraded to day by day with her outlook extremely bleak.
