I shared this with a few others... but I wanted everyone to know that little experiences like this can make someone very happy.

There's a town about 30 minutes from where I live. The road to this town is complete forest; there are no buildings or anything, just trees. This town has around 300 people living there and I go there to take pictures of the scenery sometimes. Well, on my way back from this town I saw a homeless guy on the side of the street. It was getting dark so he made a small fire to try and keep warm. So I took the 30 minutes to drive home and I did a few things. I packed a pillow, a blanket and some food, then drove 30 minutes back to give this care package to the homeless man. I will never forget his face when he saw what I was giving him. I don't ever think I'll see something like that again. He didn't say a single word, but he looked at the supplies and started to cry. Now, being a human with a heart... I couldn't hold back my own tears. This is the best possible feeling that I could ever get, and I get great satisfaction knowing that this man won't suffer through the night with the supplies that I gave him.

Always remember people... they're humans too. Help out when you can and possibly save a life.

That's awesome man. It's unfortunate that society has put such a negative mark on the homeless. Happy to hear that you were able to make this persons day!

that is truly awesome that you did this for a fellow human being
you summed it up best we are all human beings at our core with hurt's or needs and sometimes life throws things your way to put you in a place like that man and you never know why or what caused it but doesn't matter you saved a person's life and brought tears of happiness in a time of hurt and sorrow for that man and show's how big of a heart you truly do have

I myself have tried to volunteer every year round this time of year to work in a soup kitchen, of a food bank or to collect items for my church for those less fortunate than myself and am actually planning on going with a few people from my church to deliver items to a community in West Virginia this weekend that is one of the most poverty stricken parts of the country

also just to mention i my self have been homeless in the past sleeping in my car or staying at a homeless shelter and never a good feeling but it does my heart good to give back and i know how much it means I WAS ONCE THERE YEARS AGO

I can post here with mine then.

I just got back from a weekend of service at Camden, and one of the guys I was talking to was a former crack addict. He was telling me about his story and how the county was going to give him an apartment if he stayed clean for 7 months. While I was talking to him, it was his last day of being clean, and the look of happiness and being so proud of himself for being clean for the set time. He was moving in next week and he was so happy. The trip also made me realize how lucky I am to have what I have and not to take stuff for granted.

Thanks for renewing my "faith in humanity" license, I'll be sure and use it well for the rest of the year.

Faith in humanity has been temporary renewed. Glad to see people in society actually making a change and not sitting on their arses.

Thank you everyone for sharing your wonderful and inspirational stories of kindness and generosity!

My family and I sponsor 2 families at Christmas for our church. We got a 16 year old girl and an older adult male. All they tell you is the male is above 19, so it can get pretty sporadic trying to buy gifts for such a wide age gap, but don't worry it was achieved! We got 2 of those big bags and put about 10 presents for each in the bag and to top it all off, each a stocking with treats inside.

I hope everyone has a Merry Christmas! :) or any other holiday you may celebrate! =)

i seriously recommend everyone try to go out of there way this season to help those less fortunate everyone can do something whether it's donating clothes blankets and toys for a homeless shelter or a church for less fortunate in area or donating food or leftovers to a food bank or shelter or doing a angel tree and adopting a kid and buying them presents or doing toy for tots or volunteering for a day at a food bank or soup kitchen or doing meals on wheels

it doesn't matter your age or whether your in school or work or your financial situation you can give of your self in one way or another

like mentioned above i am leaving for a day with a group from my church early Saturday Morning to deliver clothes food blankets pillows and toys to 20 family's in West Virginia early Saturday Morning and i also volunteered few weeks ago to help decorate church and helped my pastor few weeks ago to cut up and deliver firewood to 3 elderly lady's

DO YOUR PART THIS SEASON
